Kara at the front desk is a sweet, hard worker who is efficient and greeted us with a smile on our four or five interactions. That being said, she was the best part of stay. I will briefly touch on covid restriction guidelines, felt adequately safe (signs posted, masks worn by employees and most guests).
PROS
If you are going to shop at the mall, this is a great location
Beds were comfortable
Grab and go breakfast was something to get your day started, not the usual hit buffet we had grown accustomed to prior to covid, but at least they give you some options
CONS
On arrival to our room, it was subpar for cleanliness and upkeep (pubic hair, not just one, on shower curtain and on the floor in the corner of the bathroom, halls cough drop in corner by sliding door, rust in the shower on hand rail and tub itself, unknown substance on the wall by light switch in bathroom, crack in ceiling, shelf in refrigerator broken). Great concept to supply shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the mounted wall unit in the shower, but cleaning staff needs to be attentive as our room had no conditioner All these small issues, but so many add up making us question the IGH Clean Promise disclaimer. Combine that with the fact we were told at check-in if we wanted room service/cleaning, we had to fill a card to request it as it is only given if requested because of covid. While I understand that concept, I certainly feel this less cleaning concept has lead to very minimal to nonexistent cleaning standards here. Never once during our stay did we witness cleaning of any high touch surfaces, tables in what would be the breakfast area, elevator buttons, etc. * I won’t post all the pics of our findings out of respect, but I will post a few to validate.
With a soccer tournament in town, finding another hotel was impossible so we were stuck here. Do your homework, listen to some recent reviews if you chose to stay here. Are there worse out there yes, but there are better too and certainly this experience doesn’t encourage me to look to the IGH brand for our next stay.
