We spent 2 nights at Hyatt House in May. The hotel, as previously stated by others, is centrally located in the heart of KOP. The convenience, together with the amenities of pool, fitness center, conference rooms, bar, lounge make this hotel an attractive option.
However, one major flaw undermines all the great perks Hyatt House KOP seeks to offer-the unending traffic noise.
The hotel sits merely a few feet away from the guardrails of I-76. Our room (402) has a direct view into the multi lane highway that is traveled by numerous vehicles at all hours of the day. The oversight of not installing sound-dampening or soundproofing windows at construction is apparent, especially at night when weary travelers are trying to sleep in quiet peace. The speeding sounds of tractor-trailers can even be heard in the hallways and interior areas of the building. We were resorted to using sound machines to muffle the sounds of speeding vehicles in hopes to catching a few hours of rest.
Overall, the hotel is clean, the staff is responsive, the included breakfast is satisfactory and the location to shops and restaurants is unmatched. But unless you end up in a few handful of rooms that have enough distance away from the highway, expect to be hearing continuous sounds of highway traffic at all hours of the day.
Truly hope for some reinvestment from Hyatt with some better soundproofing windows at this otherwise wonderful hotel.
