Just hope you don't need a Food Comp due to an Issue...

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 1 Mar 2023
I arrived on Sunday night, for a 3 night stay, until Wednesday morning. At appx. 11:00p on Sunday, all power in the room went out. A call to Front Desk revealed that power was out everywhere in Hotel, except Casino, of course. The advised that I would be contacted by the Hotel Director. The next day, I did speak with Mr. Remy, who was very pleasant and professional. He explained the problem, and offered a Food Comp for the issue to safety and comfort of hotel guests. This initially seemed to be an appropriate and satisfactory solution, but not so much, as it turned out.
I had hoped to use the Food Comp on Monday night at Revolution Chop House. It was closed on Monday and Tuesday...

I had hoped to use the Food Comp on Monday night at Copper Whisk cafe. It closed at 2:00pm each day....

I had hoped to use the Food Comp on Monday night at the Food Court. The Asian Noodle there was closed without explanation. Dunkin Donuts informed me that they did not allow any purchase to be charged to the room....

I had hoped to use the Food Comp on Monday night at Valley Tavern. Upon entering the Tavern, they stated that they had limited food selections available, and provided a “menu” with all of two selections on it, and, oh, by the way, they were out of one of those two choices....

All was not lost however.... the Italian Market, in the Food Court did provide a sumptuous array of choices of both Pizza AND Sandwiches, so what more could be desired in the search for great cuisine.

It should be noted that there are a few employees working at Italian Market who were attempting to provide quality service and products, and there are a few working who made it apparent that they would prefer to be doing something else.

Aside from this, shall we say, abbreviated , dining and customer service experience in the Food Court, all other employees I encountered within the property were friendly and courteous. The overall state of the property was good, with obviously clean and well-maintained facilities. However, mainly due to the ridiculous dining experience, it would be hard to view Valley Forge as a “Resort” destination, or one which I would recommend with any degree of enthusiasm....

Room Tip: Casino Tower is preferred - The Stardust Tower is quite a walk from all of the Action.

We spent a long weekend in the Philadelphia area and chose to stay on the outskirts of the city. We chose the Valley Forge Casino Hotel and would go back tomorrow. Our room was above the Casino but we heard no noise at all. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was huge with a nice walk in shower and good water pressure. We had a nice TV and fridge as well. We met James upon arriving and this gentleman should win Hospitality’s greatest award to be had. He accompanied us to our room, showed us around the area of the hotel we were staying and asked us to check the room over and see if it was satisfactory. He found us more pillows and asked us to call him any time. There is no automatic housekeeping so you need to contact the front desk before
11 am each day if you need this done. We went with not bothering house keeping because we had enough towels for a long time! We called once for garbage removal after having take out from the Noodle Place. The food was magnificent and wasn’t a lot, so some people complain about the quantity. I like quality and this fit the bill. I got beef with garlic sauce and broccoli. (the beef was so tender.) They have other little restaurants all around inside as well. We didn’t even get to the pool or the other tower to see their lobby. We aren’t gamblers and the casino floor itself was a bit smoky so we just cut thru. Best part of the Hotel Experience? When James met us in the beginning and said, “Welcome Home!”

Room tip: Watch parking! Had a woman scream we cut her off and then parked and came after us on foot still yelling. Hubs told her to back off. Worked

Three night stay for a duplicate bridge event on site. Our room was large with big windows on the top floor of the Casino Tower. Large walk in shower. Keurig coffee in the room. Well lit. Comfortable bed.

I didn't like the casino because it reeked of cigarette smoke. While smoking is not allowed, this is not enforced. Ashtrays are all around.

The staff is very friendly.

Daily housekeeping is not provided unless one requests it before 11 AM. They did not tell me about this at check in.

The pool is adequate but when I arrived an hour before closing the towel shack and bar were already closed down. Also, too many children were in the pool. I got the sense that many families stay there as a compromise for having a pool for the kids and a casino for the adults.

Room tip: 6th floor Casino Tower very nice. Ask for a room that is not at the far end of the hall so that you will have good TV internet service.

Don’t stay here. No hotel service, no wake up call, food court was horrible, no restaurants open, confusing check in, and they lost my car. They weren’t interested in helping me until I called the police to report my car as stolen. The only quick action on t their part was chasing me out of my room. Horrible and confusing place.

Our bartender was amazing. His name is Tim. Please give this man a raise. We sat at a table and we were ignored for 15 minutes. At the bar Tim made up for everything. Please make sure he knows that he saved the night.

You weight your weight staff was horrible.

While on a house hunting trip in King of Prussia my wife and I decided to visit the Valley Forge Casino Resort. Prior to the visit I checked trip Advisor (as I tend to do) to set expectations. First let me say we visit casino’s often even though we cut way back in 2020 because of COVID-19. In fact, we were married in Las Vegas. I was not disappointed with the Valley Forge Casino Resort. While not a large casino it was a reasonable size for the location. I play roulette and slots. The roulette dealers were friendly and the slots were reasonably loose.
There are so many amazing restaurants in the King of Prussia area we did not eat at the casinos but as I was playing, I smelled good aromas coming from the kitchens. I was able to get complimentary drinks at the bar while playing the built-in poker/slot machines. There were not a lot of cocktail waitresses walking the floor but staffing shortages is something I have notice post-COVID-19 at many venues gaming and non-gaming. Overall, I recommend a visit for gaming fun.
