the apartment was nice, clean and everything you need is there.
it's just a 15 min walk to the beach and a 5 min walk to the beginning
of the main shoppingstreet, perfect location!
we stayed with 4 girls here and it was one of the best places we stayed in
during our 1 month ozzy trip

Stayed in the guest house in room 2 for 3 nights. They place is well renovated but they take the minimum in the minimalistic to the extreme. The fittings in the bathroom are lacking with just two robe hooks to hang towels and hand towels. No soap holders in the shower an the basin is too big for the vanity so no whee to put anything. Built in robe with out hangers made them use less. Also another seat or bench in the room would be good. The internet password never worked. The only bonus would be the use of a full kitchen and dishwasher. Bangalow road is very busy road. Double glazing would help!

This motel has relatively recently changed names, which I hope is a sign of an upcoming revamp, because currently it's not great.
The room had seen better days. The bed cover had a small stain on arrival, and the bathroom periodically smelled badly of odors from waste pipes or the septic tank or similar.
The WiFi was quite slow and intermittent, with periods of not working at all. The location is quite far from the town and beach compared with other accommodation nearby.

If you book ahead, there are certainly nicer places closer to the center and to the sea for minimal extra cost – spend the few extra dollars.

Stayed at Flamingo for 3 nights on a weekend away with my friend. The lady who checked us in and other staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Our room was basic, neat and clean. We booked the queen single suite so it had two beds. Beds were comfortable, linen was spotless. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but overall fine. We were able to borrow beach towels which was great. My only complaint was that the air conditioner is right over the queen bed, not that pleasant for sleeping as it blows right on the bed. Nights were very warm and humid so we needed it.
Location is great, it's about a ten min walk into town, nice to be out a bit but definitely within walking distance.

We stayed in the motel part of the newly named Flamingo.

What was good:
- nice central location (15 min walk to town)
- good shower pressure
- spacious room
- air con worked well
- staff friendly, offered early check in which was nice
- clean
- luggage storage available
- bike hire $12 per day

What could have been better:
- room a little shabby and basic
- bed very soft, particularly on one side - needs a new mattress (no. 4)
- no room servicing throughout stay

We paid $160 per night so pretty pricey for quite a basic room, but everywhere in Byron is expensive.

We stayed here over two nights whilst going to a music festival at Red Devil Park. We stayed in the Flamingo House and we're really pleased with or stay. Reception were very friendly. The rooms are modern and very clean with great air con. The shared kitchen and living areas never had anyone in them and were clean and equiped with all the essentials you could think of. Flamingo is located within walking distant to the main part of Byron (maybe a bike ride would be better on a really hot day). I would definitely stay here again in the future.
