Nice traditional pub which welcomes dogs. We had jacket potatoes for lunch. Good sized and good quantity of filling. Friendly staff

Lostwithiel is well worth visiting with a nice river walk but this place, which is hidden on the other side of the river and railway, is the best place to eat. An old pub well kept with a car park and beer garden. We had a ploughman's on a weekday, very generous portions with cheddar, brie and a blue cheese with warm, crusty bread, very filling. Returned for the Sunday lunch (£13 for 2 courses), good plateful of home cooked delicious food and a lovely, homemade crumble. The beer from St. Austel brewery is a bonus.
Staff very nice, friendly and welcoming.

Regular visitors when on holiday in area.

Actual restaurant small but good atmosphere.

Great choice of menu.

Service a little slower than last which was strange given there was no one other than in the restaurant...but very minor observation as staff always very friendly.

Would recommend

Wife and I called in because of reviews, but we were advised we would have to wait because they only had 8 menus and they had a party of eight booked! As only four people in restaurant suggested we could look at menu before others arrived, no this was not possible. We duly waited for menus to become available even jokes with party of eight about sneaking a quick look at menu. Food when it arrived was very good. First time we have had to queue for the menu!
