“A wonderfully peaceful and relaxing stay in beautiful Cornwall”
Reviewed 7 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

My wife and I have recently returned home after a thoroughly enjoyable 4 night break in one of these fantastically quirky yurts just outside the small village of Merrymeet near Liskeard in Cornwall. We camp quite regularly but this is our first time "glamping" - and we certainly made an excellent choice! Lindsey and David are charming hosts and from the moment we arrived they made our stay very special. They have clearly worked very hard to make their accomodation and facilities very comfortable and to a high standard.

The yurts themselves are brilliant - welcome to Hobbit land!! Such a really cool design with its own little veranda, front door, skylight and an individually built wooden frame structure that is quite beautiful to look at (even nicer to wake up to!). They are well appointed inside, with a king sized bed, plenty of hanging and storage space, a brilliant wood burning stove (which David lit for us every night we went out so we came home to a warm yurt - what a legend!) and plenty of tea lights; very atmospheric. The sides of the yurt are also felt lined inside so are quite cozy!

Each yurt also has its own modern shower room and kitchen area which is in a former cowshed. The kitchen has a really contemporary design, is light and airy and is fully equipped with all mod cons. There is also an area to relax in and some useful information and maps on the local area which was really handy. Failing that, Lindsey and David were always happy to help give us advice on the region.

In all, we had a fantastic stay and left for home feeling properly relaxed. Its a lovely area to explore, with great walks on nearby Bodmin moor or by the coast at Rame Head, and some lovely pubs (the Crow's Nest inparticular was very nice and within walking distance). We would certainly recommend Luxury Cornish Yurts and look forward to staying again in the future.

“Great fun for all ages”
Reviewed 2 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Just returned from a family celebration , with 15 family members ages from 15 to 80 . We stayed in the annex , which had a lovely comfortable bed, in a super room, my son and his wife had room upstairs, with a kitchen .so you could stay and be self contained. The rest of the family shared three yurts, they all had a double bed , and futons, wood burning stove , floor coverings, and space to put clothes, they all loved it. As it was a 80 th birthday , we had all the food provided, leaving us free to enjoy ourselves. We stayed two nights, and the owners Lindsay and David are most welcoming, and provided us with a decorated room , for the birthday. The food choice was suitable for everyone, and cooked to perfection. , we started off with canapés and Cava, then a BBQ , next day coked breakfast and Saturday the most lovely four course meal. The table decorations were so pretty and each place setting named with our choice of food.. Everyone was thrilled with the accommodation, set in a large field, so children could play outside, and a large room called the cowshed was the meeting place, this had plenty of space and the food was served there.if you want to celebrate without having to do anything , this is the place,we had ordered wine and a cake to be delivered, so everything was in place for a wonderful family weekend. And the owners Lindsay and ,David were the most perfect hosts. So caring and kind..its short drive to Looe and other sea side places.

“Highly recommended for groups”
Reviewed 25 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

I stayed here for a long weekend with a large group (aged 19 to 34) to celebrate a birthday. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome by Dave and shown where everything was.
We had booked all three yurts and it really is an ideal place to spend if you're looking for somewhere to go for a birthday or celebration, as you have the whole place to yourselves and no one will be disturbed by any music or general outside noise at night.
The yurts are clean and cosy with a woodburner in each and tea lights to light at night. Being fire-starting novices, we were shown how to light them and where the spare firewood was (a reasonable £5 per bag). Towels and bed linen is all provided and we certainly didn't get cold at night.
We used the gas BBQ that was available on site and the fire pit when we sat outside on chilly nights.
Lots to do in local area, but just as easy to make the most of the large field, sports equipment and board games!
Highly recommended and will definitely be booking again.
One tiny glitch - it could do with a more visible sign out on the road or near to the campsite where the sav nav takes you.

“The ultimate in relaxation”
Reviewed 24 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

This was a last minute booking for myself and my partner after having a recommendation from a friend . This truly is clamping and the facilities here are top notch. I loved the log burner and tea light candles , the perfect dark silence at night (such bliss coming from a noisy city) and most of all the fantastic welcome we received from David (lindsey wasn't there this time but we hope to meet her next time) . Under his recommendation we explored area's we wouldn't have normally , staying somewhere with such great local knowledge really makes a difference .
We already want to come back ...serious holiday blues now!!!!.

“Fabulous stay - highly recommended”
Reviewed 5 August 2012 for a stay in June 2012

A little late in writing this review but it had to be done. My partner and I stayed for 4 days at the end of June and had a lovely time (despite the inclement weather!). The yurts themselves were extremely comfortable (the log burner and candles provided makes it really cosy) and the Cowshed was a great place to meet the other guests. David and Lindsey were fantastic hosts and have made sure that everything you could possibly need is provided to make sure your stay is hassle free. We travelled to Cornwall by train with our bicycles and were met at the station by David who took us back to the yurts, which was an added service that was greatly appreciated! Nothing seemed too much trouble. I would highly recommend a stay here, you won't be disappointed!
