Lovely surroundings and a fantastic conversion as are all Wetherspoons pubs & hotels.
However on grill night there were no ribs for the chicken combo- this was substituted by gammon. Unfortunately both were overcooked and spoilt the meal but for £8.10 including a drink who can complain.
Service was not the quickest and as ever not enough staff to serve the queues. Plenty of real ales on and reasonably well looked after.
Nice to pop in when staying in the Premier Inn- which doesn't have good beer.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We aim to have 100% availability, but on this occasion we certainly slipped up. The ribs are one of my favourite things on the menu, nothing quite beats succulent meat that falls off the bone. I've discussed your feedback with the team, and we've increased the size of our orders for the ribs, so that this shouldn't happen again. We've introduced the Wetherspoon's Order and Pay app so that our staff can spend less time typing on the tills, more time serving customers, and you get it delivered to the table too! Worth giving it a go if you're a smart phone user, always nice to avoid a queue.

Kind regards,
Rob

We were on a Harry Shaw Day Trip, to have a ride on The East Lancashire Steam Railway and visit Bury Market. After the train trip and before visiting the market we ate in this Wetherspoons. We were very impressed with the decor and the friendly hard working staff. I had sirloin steak cooked to perfection and my partner had three items for £10:00 which he enjoyed. The market was really good and next time we will try The Robert Peel!.

Thanks very much for visiting, and thanks equally for leaving a review. I haven't a bad word to say about The Robert Peel, but we're considerably more spacious, so don't be afraid to pop by here instead if you're in the area!

All the best,
Rob

What a beautifully preserved picture house by Wetherspoons. Located adjacent Bury Interchange the outside is not very attractive, however when you go inside you get the wow factor.
One of the bars is the old screen and the circle and boxes are beautifully decorated and quite ornate, something one does not expect in this day and age.
Ham & Cheese panini was delicious and served very quickly.
Will need to go back and take some photos as I forgot this time

Met some friends at the pub before heading off to look round Bury Pride and watch the parade. Spent a couple of hours in here and it was very busy. Saying that service at the bar was quick and so was our food that we ordered.
We had southern fried chicken strips from the small plates menu and a bowl of chips from the sides menus.
Prices for food and drink reasonable.
Free refills on tea and coffee if yiu don't drink alcohol.

Ate here, not gunna bother again 'cheap and cheerful' this place is not. Food was cheap, but was presented and tasted cheap. Poor quality food. Meat was like rubber. Probably been hot held for too long, which would explain why it came out too quick.
