Me and my wife have wanted to see these stones for a very long time the view of the stones from the a303 is great! Should of left it at that but we decided to take a closer look. £5 parking £17.50 entry per person, i still couldn't go and touch the stones. Extortionate price cafe too. Another world heritage site turned into a tourist trap

Yes it is definitely worth a visit. The stones are impressive. But try and do so in good weather (difficult when you have to book in advance) and when it is not too busy. The visitor centre is a bit away from the site itself, but they have free buses to take you there if you don't want to walk. However the walk is very nice in good weather. The visitor centre is a bit disappointing compared to other sites eg the Giant's Causeway with fairly limited explanations for children.

Stonehenge is a must see. about 3 hrs from London center, you will need a car or take a tour. the information center where you get tickets also has a museum like exhibit about the stones. you can walk through English farms or take a shuttle to the stones. make sure you don't step in cow dung

Impressive structure but you can't get up close on a normal day due to the thousands of tourist. You can book to go into the circle at certain times of the year but you have to pay and although you are close to them you still can't touch the stones which was disappointing.

We yesterday arrived at Stonehenge to find the car park is now two miles away from the site and to actually go to see the sight you have to either walk the 2 miles or you can take one of the buses they put on which is just under £20. We chose to walk as we weren't going to be ripped off by English Heritage, only to find when you actually get to the site you are segregated from the people who have paid. English Heritage should hang their heads in shame for this disgraceful and extortionate behaviour. Save your money and see it from the road there are plenty of better places to see which are cheaper.
