Called in with my daughter this afternoon and was immediately taken aback by how nicely decorated it is . We sat inside and had lunch which was incredibly tasty . I’ll tell you how good it was , my daughter cleared her plate which doesn’t usually happen . Really nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and helpful . I will definitely be back , next time with more people so they too can experience what I have today . Bravo

We live opposite the Stubbin Wharf and for the past 3 years have witnessed the changes, departures, arrivals, the whole gamut of activities to maintain the viability of the pub. During the past few days the new management have worked so hard to regenerate the outside area, offer fresh food menus, work on the atmosphere of the interior. It is so gratifying to see local food suppliers, fresh fish vans arriving, local food suppliers in small vans, instead of the huge articulated lorries. We wish the new owners every success in their quest to provide well cooked fresh food and restore the Stubbing Wharf to its rightful place as a canal side pub , frequented by Ted Hughes and before him the many local artisans who lived and worked in this verdant valley and made it the place it is today.

Sunday dinner with the family and got the sharing platter. This was best I’ve had for a while. The Parmesan roast potatoes were exceptional and the onion and beer gravy was class.

I’ll be back again very soon!
