Older hotel but clean. Great for soccer tourn.

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 20 Oct 2024
Older hotel (but clean) with great public spaces. There are several lounge areas, pool area, outdoor deck area as well as outdoor lounge area. Great for our soccer tourn. Miss B- thanks for making us feel so welcome. We would come back however we hope the kitchen can step it up, and produce a real menu. Even a small "late night" menu. The paper menu we were given with all items except about 3 crossed off was so awkward for the staff and left us asking so many questions.
We did end up eating the salmon dinner which was tasty! Older Bartender gentlemen also very nice.

We booked rooms at this hotel 10 months in advance for a wedding. We communicated for more than 6 months with the event coordinator for an event at the location. It was a very well planned out event from our side. Starting from the checkin,
a. They did not provide breakfast vouchers to the guests at checkin as they were supposed to. Instead they were handing out the vouchers to random guests in the lobby without knowing or asking if they were our guests.
b. They did not have rooms ready at 3.00 for most of the guests. Reason was that they had three weddings happening in that weekend. They were very much understaffed.
c. They had one towel in the bridal suite. And they never answered the phone to the front desk. When I asked in person at the front desk they were curt.
d. At the event, they were supposed to place the appetizers out at 3.00 and the main course at 5.00. They did not have anything out until 5.30 and it was a total chaos with the guests waiting for even a drink.
Please DO NOT use this hotel for ANY events. They are understaffed at each location of the hotel. And incompetent. You will regret it.

Room tip: Please avoid using this hotel for Events

We stayed overnight for a wedding we attended. In the middle of the night the fire/emergency alarm went off and everyone had to evacuate. The fire department let us back in and we never heard from staff. 20 minutes later it went off again. 30 minutes after that, off again. We never received and explanation or apology. The next morning at check out, no one was at the front desk to show face to guest either. It literally seemed like staff was hiding. I wrote this all in a review to them and still haven’t heard anything either.

There was a glitch with my reservation, but it was fixed by the hotel, so all went smoothly. This hotel is in a great location. The beds are comfortable, room was clean and we had plenty of space because of my status upgrade. I feel the hotel has a warm, homey feeling. So many hotels of all brands are stark, minimalistic and cold feeling. Sheraton Great Valley is an older hotel, but I found everything in good working condition. I prefer hotels with a "historical" feeling. We were expecting a room tidy, and even asked at the desk if housekeeping would take care of making up the bed and providing new towels. That did not happen, but they did bring new towels when requested. We used the executive lounge and found the food provided as adequate and the lounge attendant helpful. We did not eat in the restaurant, but I wish that we had. If we were to return to the area, I would be happy to stay at the Sheraton Great Valley hotel again.

I made a reservation for a room with two double beds for two nights, July 19-21. The room is for me and my sister, who are traveling for an event. Upon arrival, the employee stated that they do not have a room available with two double beds. After I provided my information and explained that I reserved a room and it should be available, she stated that she could offer us a room with a king sized bed and a rollout bed(plus complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience).. I did not pay $170 per night to sleep on a rollout bed. I told her I'd need to think about it and stepped away. I attempted to book another nearby hotel and was unable to locate one with two double beds. This is now very scary because this is an unfamiliar city and we are now without the accommodations we paid for and requested. So my sister went back to the desk to ask again why there is not a room with a double bed available. Now, she states there was a room being cleaned and it is now available. I remind her that this was not what she told us initially as she was adamant that there was not a double bed room available. Once she gives us our keys we asked if she would still be providing complimentary breakfast for this inconvenience as we were sitting in the lobby for about 15 minutes trying to get this all situated. Her response was “No because you got what you paid for.” That was disappointing and false. We paid for good service and convenience and got neither. It seemed as if this employee profiled us, assuming we were a couple, and tried to place us in a room that did not fit what we reserved. Additionally, there was no sign of a cleaning crew, and there are stains on the carpet in this room. I am extremely frustrated, disappointed, and shaken up by this experience. The employee's name was Jonilda and this behavior needs to be addressed.

Room tip: The AC is very loud. Bring earplugs.

I stayed at the Sheraton Great Valley this past Thursday with my son for 1 night. I don’t normally give hotels bad reviews but better effort is needed on the upkeep of the rooms. My room was 135 and there were several issues with this room. First off, various things were damaged in the room. The body wash dispenser was completely off of the wall mount in fact, the whole mount was broken off the shower wall. Also, the pump top was broken so it was almost impossible to get soap out with which to shower. There were stains on the walls, the tile in the bathroom was broken and there was a crack on the bathroom door. The wallpaper was peeling off in the bathroom as well. These things are not usually a big deal as long as the room is clean but the rugs felt sticky and had stains as well and the bedding looked old and dingy. This is what I really had the most problem with. I had a hard time falling asleep because I did not feel comfortable sleeping in this bed and even a little disgusted after I found a small hair when I pulled back the sheets. This is not a low end hotel, it’s a Sheraton and I expect better quality rooms. I’m pretty disappointed at the lack of care and the condition of this room. I was charged 21,000 points for this room and in my opinion, it was not worth it. Sheraton, you need to do better!

Room tip: Inspect the room and let them know of any problems.
