A true hidden gem! Good food, great service, small town vibe.
My wife loved the French Dip with homemade onion rings -- she would give it 5 stars. I thought it needed a bit more flavor.
I liked the Beef Eater sandwich with waffle fries. It was a hot sandwich with good ingredients. Again, I just desired more flavor in the roast beef. That's why I gave the cafe 4 stars instead of 5.
We finished up with a slice of delicious Huckleberry Cream pie. Try the pie -- you can thank me later!

The service was very good and so was the burger. I had not stopped here in many years. The place is completely redone. It is nice and clean. It looks new in comparison to before. The two young ladies that served me did an excellent job. The blue cheese burger was delicious

We have been to this restaurant numerous times in the past while visiting La Grande but this was, by far, the worst meal I have had there. My wife had the French dip sandwich; the meat was dry as jerky. I had the chili burger; the meat was unseasoned and the chili was the poorest excuse for chili I have ever had, no flavor. One could see beans and small pieces of tomato, but it was extremely bland with no hint of chili seasoning. There was a lot of food which the dogs appreciated and it was only fit for dogs. They must have changed cooks; regardless, we'll never go back.

The waitress was attentive, the only reason I gave this place a two.

They appear to have a new dining room. Service was attentive and friendly, portions were large and good.

I had the prime rib dinner excellent came with choice potato I had baked with butter and sour cream a vegetable and Soup or salad. This prime rib would rival any steakhouse. Social distancing, masks and all the cleanliness precautions needed are taken. It was served on a sizzling platter with plenty of au jus and horseradish! The only thing better than the food was the service. I topped the meal off with coconut cream pie yummmm!!
