We wanted to see the ocean and chill at the beach for a couple of days before we attended to business in Portland. The Hallmark Resort & Spa fit the bill almost perfectly. This was the first time our dog had ever seen the ocean and waves and wet sand and he was thrilled! The rooms and room views were great and they really go out of their way to accommodate your dog. Between the nice rooms, the beach and the very close proximity to good restaurants, we couldn't have been happier. My only gripe is the extremely long and steep stairs leading down AND UP to and back from the beach. But that's just the nature of this property. I would have preferred not to have to climb those stairs each time I went to the beach. : /

The rooms are nice and clean and the nightly rates are more than reasonable -- all things considered. (They gave us the Manager's Special rates.) The Wi Fi worked well and the long distance phone was free. (This was a big plus for us, as we had to stay in touch with work.)

Unfortunately, we only had 2 1/2 days to enjoy Cannon Beach. I would have liked to have stayed 4-5 days and really explore the extended area. There is a lot to see. Over-all, we rested up from the long drive to get there and got our souls full of expansive ocean views, fresh sea breeze and plenty of sunshine. I'll be back!

This is an incredible location! Panoramic views of the beach and Haystack Rock, walking distance to restaurants and some shops, a short drive to everything else. We made reservations just over a month in advance, and oceanfront rooms were limited... we ended up staying in an ocean-front room with a murphy bed. All in all, we had a fantastic stay. Room was comfortable, and with the bed pulled down, there was still room to walk around and plenty of space for our baby's pack n' play. This was a pet friendly room, but no odor or hair anywhere. We used the indoor pool (mid-May and it was a little drizzly and cold) and were happy to see a shallow wading/baby pool that was perfect for dipping our newborn and introducing her to the water. Our only complaint is that the room could have been a little cleaner (behind the murphy bed was pretty filthy). Next time, we'll book further in advance so that we have a more comfortable bed. All in all, a great stay.

very central to haystack rock bit of a walk to restaurants, most of the nicer restaurants were closed Monday and Tuesday, but there was always somewhere to eat as there is no restaurant at the hotel....

Not much time, but wanted to put in a good word. The location, quality, and price are all great. Great staff and proximity to the best of Cannon Beach. We've never had a bad experience there. I'm almost tempted to downplay how good it is, as we don't want to find out some day we can't get a room there. But in fairness, they are the only place in Cannon Beach our family stays at now.

From first contact making reservations through departure the staff was as professional and friendly as any I have experienced. They are well-trained in the hotels systems and operations; knowledgeable of the area and focused on guest service and the guest experience.
