Visited Goa with my wife and a few friends. All our prior visits we had stayed at either some lodge or a hotel, but this time we decided to have Villa experience. During our research, we found this gem of a place. Hidden from all the hustle in North Goa, it is located in Verla Canca. Easily visible on the main road because of the brightly colored gate and a pleasant yellow house.
First thing you will notice when you arrive is the architecture of the place. Pretty much vintage doors n windows, considerably high compound and amazing outdoor space covered with trees and bushes giving you the privacy you need.
The interiors are mostly decorated with a apple green color which adds a great and lively look to the living room and the kitchen. There are 3 bedrooms, well 2 and a half actually; a master bedroom, a secondary bedroom n a single bedroom area before the lawn entrance which is any loner's ideal hideaway. This place has 2 bathrooms, one attached to the living room and the other opposite the secondary bathroom.
The kitchen is equipped with pretty much everything you might ever need to cook. Since my wife and I were the ones cooking, we didn't get one chance to complain of a missing thing in there. We cooked everything ranging from French toasts to Bacon. Great thing is the dining table is just behind the stove so serving food isn't a task.
The lawn is spacious and has an old tree in the center, we had some fun time playing Holi n catch for a while. If you're travelling in a car, they even have a car parking behind the villa so you know your car is safe at night.
We slept in the master bedroom; the room is amazing with a wardrobe and easy chair. Although since the villa has high roof ceiling and is partially open from top near the living room, the air conditioning doesn't keep the room cool once you switch the AC off; but this was a very minor setback considering the comfy bed and sound sleep it provides. The windows in the bedroom are only for letting the sunlight in and overlooking at the trees planted outside.
The caretaker, Mr. Baburao, is friendly, chatty and genuinely helpful person. He took care of all our demands from arranging water bottles till restaurant/beach suggestions. Was always ready to go out of the way to help us getting around during our stay. He was also a major factor in making our stay worthwhile. There was a maid as well who used to come in the mornings to clean up the place. She cleaned all the used utensils an wiped the floor daily. A quiet and smiling female; we had some chat with her as well. Both simple and good people taking care of the Villa.
Ending the review with a statement, This place looks even better and homely than what it seems in the pics listed in the TripAdvisor page.
Word of advice, you wont find any restaurants or super stores near by so stock up your supplies before you decide to head back to the villa from the market.
