If the 1 gal working the "assembly line" wasn't the shift boss/manager, she missed her chance- She was bossy, and very pushy with several of the workers on the line. I think the 1 young lady that first took our order was in training possibly; but noone was patient with that training process. The bossy gal was downright rude to her several times, and I felt rude to customers on the line. She had NO patience whatsoever. She got after the person who seemed to be in training for the direction the handles of the utensils had been left in the food because it slows efficiency of the line evidently....but that young lady in training was NOT the one who had left the utensils in the wrong direction. It was actually the young man that she pushed aside when she decided to jump between them to be rude and bossy to the girl. At that boy, the young man, made like a ghost and disappeared fast. I think he knew what was coming? If the bossy person was a manager, she had no right to be! She may have SPEED, yes. But she has no empathy or compassionate towards others as human beings. It was obvious. So sad. Everyone behind that counter that she interacted with received the same rude treatment as she showed just how fast she could fly making food faster than everyone else. I'd rather had friendly real-people service as opposed to FAST any day.
I saw on other reviews that "Paul S" mentioned that the address on TripAdvisor is incorrect for this restaurant. He is correct. He says " The correct address is 1751 Marion Mt Gilead Road (hwy 95) on the south side of the road by Urgent Care." And possibly is a legitimate address since it's on the corner of Marion Mt Gilead Road and Edgefield Boulevard. HOWEVER my receipt from this Chipotle's today (11-05-2019) lists the address as 135 Edgefield Boulevard, Marion, Ohio 43302 with the phone of 740-389-3052.
The background music in the restaurant was annoying and way too loud. It was playing so loud that it made it very difficult to hear the people asking the questions for the food assembly behind the counter! I would have appreciated it if it was turned down a few notches. But I get sick and tired of having a meal with the music blaring so loud you cannot hear even the person beside me well enough to carry on a conversation with a meal. I suppose that is because now adays it seems very few want to lie down their electronic devices long enough to interact with the people at their table. Someday they will look up and they'll be gone....I wonder how long it will take them to notice what they have missed out on?! Nothing wrong with having a device, but wearing it where they literally eat, live, and sleep device and can no longer talk with a real person; or care if they talk to people is so sad!
The cashier today was Tiffany. She was very efficient and still friendly at her job. She tried to keep up with keeping the tables clean and cleared in addition to her cashier position. She was doing her very best too.
We tried the new Carne Asada item in a bowl today which was $8.50 for the regular kind of toppings. It is a nicely seasoned very tender steak slices. It was very good. I added Guacamole to my toppings- to find it was $2.05 extra charge! Are you kidding me- $TWO DOLLARS AND FIVE CENTS FOR GUACAMOLE?! Seriously?! That was one very expensive avocado! Get real! The fountain softdrink charge was $1.95 with free refills that you get for yourself.
The inside of the restaurant is done in an industrial modern style like most Chipotle's I've seen. The stainless steel look tables with wood/iron chairs and long high pub height tables that have little iron/vinyl seated stools at that. It's fall and starting to get chilly in Ohio. So with every customer opening the door, that cold air rushed in as we sat at the table dining. I can imagine with nothing to block that air given the dead of winter coming how much colder that will be feeling! I noticed the floor was a polished concrete- very smooth. That floor had no door mat of any kind inside the entrance either. So on a snowy or rainy day, that floor is going to be very slippery and wet making for a terrible safety hazard too. What are they thinking? Outside the restaurant was quite a bit of trash along the curb of the parking spots too. It's a small parking lot for a strip of this restaurant, a Cricket store, an Urgent Care facility, and possibly even one other business or two! Had to really pay attention for traffic to get out safely just to back out of the parking spot.
Overall, this is not my favorite eating choice. And I LOVE Mexican as a choice for a meal! Just not a good experience overall. I think that poor experience began with the rude bossy woman to tell the truth which set the tone! It was decent tasting and decent temperature- just not the greatest experience of all the restaurants I've ever went to. They have a long ways to go.
