Tried to stay here for an event. Moved out after finding bedbugs in the room. Also, pool heater broken, hot tub not in working order, restaurant closed for renovations. None of this was mentioned when we booked the room. Moved out immediately and have all of our belongings quarantined until we can spray for bugs.
My expectations weren't high for an $80 room next to the Interstate to begin with so thankfully no hopes were dashed.
Check in was quick and efficient. The elevator needs some calibrating as there was a 3"-4" step down to get on. (I'm not a building inspector but that *might* be a safety issue) Sometimes it was even and flush, other times it was off by a few inches. Hopefully more action than a "Watch your step" sign is taken.
The hallways are dated. The carpet is dated and had a large crease going through the length of the hallway. Small cracks in the walls/ceilings. Nothing in sparkling pristine condition, but at the same time nothing ready to fall apart,
The room was clean, and pretty well lit. It would had been nice to have and outlet and light next to the desk. Instead I had to pull the desk back so my laptop cord could reach the wall, then move the floor lamp up to the desk in order to have some light.
The bathroom / shower was of your typical garden variety budget hotel bathroom / shower. Nothing to write home about but everything worked fine.
My room was to the North facing the street. Being next to the Interstate on-ramp there was a fair amount of noise from trucks and motorcycles. Try for a south facing room and the noise may quiet down a bit.
WiFi was fast at around 20 - 25 MB Down. No problems streaming.
If your a clean freak, spring an extra $25 - $50 for a nicer hotel.
Yes all the other prior reviews are correct...hotel is showing age.
We were staying here for Motorcycle rally for a few days. This was planned out for this location many months. So we disappointed to find out on night 1 they only had 1 bartender and one cook running the restaurant for a rally that brought in couple hundred guest that sold out the place.
The staff did do great trying to keep up, but you could see the struggle they were going thru.
Plus the pool broke down few days prior on the hottest days of the year. At least the AC worked.
Also the breakfast in the morning could of been better stocked for a rally this size.
Let me first say that the staff was great considering what they had to deal with which was constant complaints about how bad the condition of the place is. There was a hairball in the shower, the water from tap was cloudy, broken ice bucket, no disabled rooms despite they advertise that there are (wheelchairs cannot fit through the doors!), portable air conditioners in the lobby, parts of a damaged fish tank with algae, large fans trying to air out the pool area which was way overheated. I am not a hotel snob, but this place is gross and I would have left if I wasn't there for a wedding. OWNERS INVEST IN THIS PLACE!
I came in (not a customer) and needed to use the wifi which Alex help me though my business computer wouldn't connect. So he opened his hotspot to me so I could see what I needed. I will be back. Thank you Alex
