We live in Melbourne but booked into this Hotel for a one night get away for after our wedding day in the city. Pulled up to hotel front with suitcases but no one came out to help. Hoped to book a massage in the spa and called in advance but were told it was fully booked all weekend. We didn’t mind too much as knew we could use the pool and sauna which is open until 10.30pm. The pool water is pretty cold. This is fine in the lap pool but even the jacuzzi section is cold which was disappointing as we couldn’t comfortably spend any time in there. It’s also very poorly lit at night. Gym is too small. I didn’t want to use it on this occasion but if I did I wouldn’t have been impressed. Steam room was fine. Our room was small certainly looked like it had seen better days with paint chipped off and pretty small. Found it quite noisy in the night time too. We arrived at breakfast with still an hour and a half to go before close of breakfast. No one greeted us properly. Were told to come on in which we did and sat down but no one came to our table. Had to chase a waitress down who took down our room number so not sure why the first one didn’t do that. Weren’t offered tea or coffee - had to ask for it. There were no plates left at the buffet so again had to ask for them. And when we did get some plates and chose are breakfast items all the hot food was already cold which was really disappointing. The grounds themselves are
stunning and we enjoyed walking round those and the mansion museum was good too, but the hotel itself is poor. Felt completely ignored for most of our stay. Definitely not 5 star. I think the only selling point currently at this hotel is the location.

Enjoyed a night away. We stayed in a superior room which was ideally located above pool/spa end of the hotel. Room was nice, bed was ok, pillows average despite having a pillow menu. Wish they would remove the shower over bath, so 1990's and just have a nice shower.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Werribee Mansion. We went for an early week get away - Monday and Tuesday - and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. We stayed in the new section and we thought the room was big enough - the bed was massive!! - it was clean and tidy and had the mod-cons you would expect for this standard of hotel. The bathroom was off ...the aluminium basin and bench gave the bathroom a sterile operating theatre feel.

The service was fine - like i said the place was near empty so it would be expected that they were attentive - with the highlight being the service in the Spa ... Those ladies were awesome.

We went for a fabulous morning walk and then we went for breakfast. The set up was a little odd but adequate. The pastries and croissant were average - but the toasting bread, streaky bacon, baked beans, mushrooms were all very good and the butter was exceptional. It was good to have juice available but they were at room temperature by the time I got them because they were not kept on ice.

I will review Joseph's restaurant separately .... in a nutshell the food was fine without having the "it" factor you expect at those prices.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new building as they are larger.

I've always wanted to stay at Werribee Mansion. We took advantage of the Winter Warmer package and it was lovely. Bubbles on arrival, great pool, breakfast and late checkout. We looked around Werribee Park where I hadn't been for a long time. Lovely grounds and house to explore. Wine tasting at Shadowfax winery was great but I don't recommend trying them all if you are driving! Luckily we visited the winery in the afternoon. Overall we had a fantastic stay.

A short stay at Werribee Mansion Hotel and Spa is a great get away that combines history, a luxury spa, views across Werribee Open Plains Zoo and a mix of cuisine both inhouse and right next door at the Shadowfax Winery which sits within the Mansion's grounds. We enjoyed 2 relaxing nights, enjoying a beautiful meal at Joseph's restaurant on our first night and long lunch at the Shadowfax Winery the next day. There are plenty of nice walks, beautiful gardens, the historic mansion you can tour, a café that overlooks the gardens, the Werribee Open Plains Zoo and a luxury spa to enjoy - only 30 mins drive from Melbourne + once your there, park your car and leave it for the duration of your stay. Great for couples and just a good place to catch up with old friends, with something for everyone.

Room Tip: If travelling without a car, the Mansion would be an $18-$20 taxi ride from Werribee Station
