The hotel is trapped in the 80's with the exposed brick walls and the decor but the view of the sea was beautiful and I did enjoy the spa bath! All in all comfortable and clean for the price and very handy for a lovely walk. Across the road from Hursey Seafoods which has the best fish and chips I have had in years. The hotel is run by the people at the pub so you need to pick up your keys there.

Room Tip: A top floor with sea views was lovely.

Amazing views with penguins out the front,a nice central location to walk up the street or over the road from the fantastic seafood restaurant. The room was nice and warm with all the essentials provided,we loved our time in Stanley.

I was in Tasmania for 8 days and this was the worst hotel reason being the bed was too soft and sinking and we were not used to it. It was painful to sleep in and we couldn't get a comfortable sleep. The sea view is OK and at night you can hear the penguins making noise but you can't see where they are as its too dark. The rest of the amenities were still average.

We were lucky we decided on returning to visit this place as this is our very 1st encounter with Penguins, right outside our door and under our car the little guys were everywhere, we were so lucky to see them and have the whole accommodation to ourselves that night. We really enjoyed our stay in the King bed, comfy and clean, a really nice stay, Thanks.

We arrived in Stanley late in the afternoon on a cold Saturday afternoon. We went direct to the village accommodation only to find a notice telling us to pick up the keys at the Stanley Hotel. (Lack of communication from staff)
We were greeted by a very rude young man that did not get off his seat to make us welcome. Big mistake.
The pub owns the “Village Accommodation “.
One thing they could do is to supply large towels- yep too small and not in keeping with the standard of the accommodation.
Read my review of the “Pub Food” at the Stanley Hotel.
