Having made a late decision to stay in Smithton for the night we found ourselves at this place in a unit overlooking the lake. We decided to eat in the restaurant and were so glad we did. I had the 18 hour smoked brisket and my wife had the shoulder of lamb - both beautiful meals and to be be recommended!
The unit was very spacious with two bedrooms and bathrooms and a well equipped kitchenette set in well kept grounds. It was a bit more expensive but worth every bit extra.
Breakfast was the continental option give the big meal the night before - very nice and plenty of it.
Friendly and attentive staff.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Tall Timbers. The rooms are beautifully well kept and there are a range of facilities such as a great indoor pool and gym. The photos do not do this place justice.
Worth mentioning is the fact that a $200 bond is charged on arrival if you don't have a credit card. Whilst there is nothing specifically wrong with this I do feel that it leaves a bit of a bad taste in your mouth and suggest to management that the lost profit from the odd towel going missing is probably outweighed by the way customers will be turned off by a lack of trust. Overall a fantastic stay however.

We only stayed one night the service from the receptionist was great and information given spot on. The room was warm and cosy with all the basic facilitiesclean and tidy. We would stay there again. (Spacious grounds to wonder around with swimming pool indoors and tennis courts)

Room tip: Back units would be quiter although the basic ones. Otherwise ask for lake view ???

I only stayed overnight on a Sunday in Winter. The restaurant is heated and while the evening meal was a fairly tasteless fish the breakfast was very good with a great selection. I found the room very good except for the lighting which was too subdued for reading in comfort. The use of timber in construction of the place is spectacular.

Room was exceptionally clean and the bed comfortable. Bathrooms appear to be recently renovated and work well. Surroundings serene and very pleasant. Staff friendly. Bistro menu good but on the top end of price - not quite value for money.

Room tip: Autumn escape was good value
