We visited on Monday 30th April, for dinner.
When reading reviews, we weren’t expecting anything incredible, aside from the gimmick of your food being delivered via rollercoaster, so we went in with fairly low expectations. Guys, don’t believe everything you read online; as for us, we had a brilliant experience.
There’s lots of novelties - you place your orders on a tablet/iPad. Quite fun with lots of pictures of the food, very descriptive with ingredients and allergens etc.
Pints, bottles of wine and cocktails are delivered by hand, whereas soft bottled drinks arrived via coaster.
The food was coming out quite quickly, and we were advised to order starters, eat those and then move to mains. We had Garlic Mushrooms, Mozzarella sticks and 2 lots of the scrummy pork scratchings
For mains, 2 of our party had steak - both cooked to order. No complaints there. The other two had the “WickerMan Stack” - which was delicious, but blow your brains out HOT!
the food is delivered in silver, lidded bowls, and you plate it yourself. Different dish elements come down the coaster in different bowls - so chips will follow the steak etc. I guess this is to minimise mushiness during transport
Mains very good, and piping hot, and all arrived in good time (we’d ordered all at the same time to ensure no delays, rather than ordering “per person”).
Pudding - Choc Fondant was very nice, as was the kids (for a big kid who wanted Jelly and a Freddo!!) pudding. Others opted for a liquid dessert.
All in all, a lot of fun. Theres videos playing of the various coasters, past and present on big screens... there’s awe when the food comes down from the kitchen (particularly the loop-the-loop!)
3 courses, a bottle of wine, cocktails and beers...4 adult guests was £135. Not too shabby. Think pub-grub, but in a wicked environment. Menu is pretty basic, but there’s something there for everyone.
My only, and very slight complaint was the member of staff at the end , who when we asked for the bill, sharply told us we had to walk up to the desk and pay - when we’d seen others pay at the table...but I’m in hospitality and that’s just a bug-bare of mine...it didn’t ruin our night...just maybe all staff should treat customers the same. ♀️
