Pyramid hill is a great place to spend several hours on a nice day. You can either drive in your car thoughout the park, rent golf carts or park and walk to sculptures within the park. It is very well worth a yearly pass (Around $40) and bring a picnic lunch a few times a year. They do have holiday lights that are nice but are at an additional cost. I love spring and fall visits as the views are gorgeous and we have taken some great family photos here. Highly recommend the ancient museum display however it isn't the best for small children. Overall a gorgeous place to see in Hamilton.
Beautiful art and lovely grounds. We go a few times a year checking out the craft fair each year and the Christmas lights during the holiday season.
I had no idea this park existed until I bought a Groupon online and decided to check it out. My friend and I were amazed at the variety of sculptures (she thought it would all be "people" sculptures). We got a brochure and papers describing the sculptures and artists when we arrived. It was very interesting. There is a small museum with Harry Wilks' private collection. When he died, he donated everything to the city of Hamilton. His house is on the property and I hope they open it up at some point to the public. His house is underground. One of the employees told us that people come from all over the world to see the sculptures. The land is fantastic - lots of trees, small lakes, some buildings that can be used for weddings, parties, etc. We drove around in my car and would park and get out for a closer look. There are golf carts to rent, which seems like an easier choice but an added expense. The park is too big to cover it all by walking in one visit, but different parts could be covered over several visits. I am thinking about a membership, but it is a little far for me to drive frequently. The park has various activities, including a summer program for kids.
I can't believe I've lived in Cincinnati this long and have never been to this park! We went on a gorgeous fall day and it was a great experience! We took our dog, and opted to walk instead of rent a golf cart, although we were not able to cover the whole park in the time that we were there. There is literally something unique and interesting around every turn at this park! It isn't just sculptures, but lakes, views, and an old stone dwelling. The lawns and landscaping are really well maintained. I just loved this. Can't wait to go back!
The park was much larger than we expected and had a lot of great art.
If you're able, I highly recommend going early on a weekday. My husband and I took our small dog on a Thursday morning. There was maybe one other group there at the same time as us so we really got to take our time as we strolled around viewing the art and sat on the overlook patio chatting without another person in sight.
Dogs are welcome, however we did not see any dog stations with bags or somewhere for them to drink so be sure to bring those along with you, especially on a hot day.
This place is definitely a hidden gem, it significantly exceeded my expectations. Weather was just perfect in September. We will definitely go again next time we are in town.
I have been to the Park several times. There have been some special events hosted there that I have attended and I have also been there to review the sculptures. Art of this sort is really just not my thing. BUT, the park is definitely a certain something set aside from the normal. There are plenty of sculptures to see and lots of abundant trees and green space as any park should have. For me it was a little pricey for what it was ( though I must repeat, I am not an art person ) but it was still a nice day to spend with the family. My kids are more into art and they would rate it a little higher than I did.
