I have been to the Park several times. There have been some special events hosted there that I have attended and I have also been there to review the sculptures. Art of this sort is really just not my thing. BUT, the park is definitely a certain something set aside from the normal. There are plenty of sculptures to see and lots of abundant trees and green space as any park should have. For me it was a little pricey for what it was ( though I must repeat, I am not an art person ) but it was still a nice day to spend with the family. My kids are more into art and they would rate it a little higher than I did.
Pyramid Hill is a 400 acre sculpture park. It's open year round but it has special events throughout the year.
This was our 2nd year of going to the Pyramid Hill Art Show. There were a lot of booths of different mediums of art for sale. There were some of the same artists as last year, which was great, as well as some new ones.
The weather was picture perfect. If you live in the greater Cincinnati area this is a great place to just walk around, look at all of the sculptures, or just take a picnic lunch. There is an 8.00 per person admission fee for adults and kids ages 6 and up are 3. Special Event parking is 5.00 a car, which is what we paid for the festival.
We live in the area about 45 minutes away and I had no idea this was here and such a hidden gem. Its 10,000 acres of park with sculpture placed throughout it. We went on a perfect day ... the weather and sky were just ideal for enjoying this park. You can walk drive or went a cart for 20 bucks. We drove ... stopped now and then to walk around. loved the clear reflections in the lakes .. the museum was a real treat ... had no idea the park would include museum quality art ... which was all from a private collection. How good of him to allow his lifes collection to be shared for years to come by the public.
We didn't even see it all .. will have to go back and see the rest.
Very calming & interesting place. Love looking at the sculptures. this place is growing. there is something for everybody. hiking, golf carts to drive thru the park, picnic area, even a roman artifact museum. Check out the web site for more. They have art programs for kids, bring your dog days, craft festivals & more. I have even been here for a beautiful wedding & reception. There are places to rent & beautiful sculptures to hold your ceremony near. Great picture taking park.
My wife and I visited Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park today. Our Groupon pass got us both in for $7, which seems an appropriate cost, vs the advertised gate admission of $8 each. We've been to other sculpture parks: one in St. Louis and one in Grand Rapids, MI. Pyramid ranks 3rd among the three. It appears a generous benefactor gave the land and some money to pave roads, put up some buildings, and begin acquiring sculpture, but didn't donate enough money to maintain the site. I know it's been a rainy summer in Ohio, but the lawns were desperately in need of mowing and many of the paved roads were missing signs, resulting in our innocently driving down a paved lane meant only for golf carts. There is a potential here for a great sculpture park, but there needs to be a significant infusion of capital and managed care to whip it into shape.
This is a very nice and interesting place to see. We walked to most of the sculptures and there are many hills so if you don't want deal with that, they do have "art" carts to rent which is what they call their golf carts. You can bring in food to have a picnic and they have many picnic tables around the park. You are allowed to bring your dog as long as the dog is on a leash. Cost is $8.00 each to get in but it is worth the cost for admission!
