“An excellent cottage, well equipped and close to the beach. ”
Reviewed 25 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

A very clean and well equipped large cottage, has everything for an enjoyable stay, great value for money and more. Close to the beach, dog friendly and a nice walk to the village pubs, couldn't ask for a better location. Have my booking in for next year.

“Great Location, quite and clean but property is tired and in neeed of renovation”
Reviewed 18 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Hi,

Just stayed recently and the property is in a great location, is quite and clean.

But it is looking tired. We were booked in for a week but left after 4 days, due to a strong smell of the heating oil coming from the boiler. Affecting the downstairs bedroom, bathroom and hall. We did make the owner aware, once we had left but was advised that she could not smell it when she went over. This I find strange as all the people in our party commented on the odour.

There is also mismatched paint on various walls, rugs in the lounge we had to move as they were a trip hazard as the corners were upturned. The sockets at the back off the TV have a number of extension leads in them and i would suggest this could be a fire risk.

The lock on the internal sliding patio door is difficult to operate at best, but will lock if you keep trying. The outer door top window does open, but would appear to be hanging on by one hinge.

There is a step down into the kitchen from the hall, looks like this was orignally painted to make you aware but over time this has worn away.

If you look at the property when you park and walk up to the door, badley in need of a paint, and letter box rusted through. The vent for the boiler is again rusted through.

Rear garden again weeds up through the patio, and metal patio chairs rusted.

It does look like some work is in progress regards the decor of some of the rooms.

Please note the downstairs bathroom shower is on a plinth and you have to step up to get in and step down to get out. May be difficult if you are unsteady on your feet.

The propery does have WI-FI but is slow and SKY TV, but this is a older version of SKY.

Some may call this character, and we appreciate that it must be difficult to matain a property when it is constanly in use as the guest book suggests.

But we feel that any future guests should be made aware of the issues we experienced.

Management Response

hello. I will not thank you for your comments - all I feel very very unfair and some totally not true. You did not contact me to come and address the smell of oil - and again I will confirm there was not one - as I went to the cottage immediately after your email. There are no fires risks. I would not allow my cottage to be a fire risk. Having a TV, Sky box and DVD player plugged in to one extension socket that is designed for 4 is not a fire risk. The patio door is not a problem - you don't need to lock it as it is an internal door? The back door top window is not hanging on a hinge-it is a 2 way opening window. The house wood was painted last year and all windows are UPVC double glazed - again I am not sure what this problem is that you are referring to? The letter box is regularly painted but being on the seafront looks tired quickly - again this should not have caused you a problem. The WIFI is not slow - never has anyone commented on this and as I use it every Saturday I can confirm it is up to speed. Sky TV and freeview are totally up to date and I do not understand the comment about 'old' sky TV?? Is there such a thing? I am unsure why such a negative review has been written. I welcome all constructive criticism and act on all helpful suggestions. Referring to the 'well used customer book' proves that over the last 10 years that I have owned this home I have many returning very happy customers. This review is totally unfair and does not give a true representation of Seabreeze or the amount of attention and time dedicated to ensure visitors all have an enjoyable holiday.

“Fantastic cottage with amazing views, warm, cosy and very comfortable, cannot recommend highly enough !!!”
Reviewed 28 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

My family have just returned from Seabreeze, our second visit to the coast first to Beadnell, we will definitely be returning as soon as possible, amazing cottage a home from home with everything you could possibly want and only a stones throw from the beach. Fantastic views clear blue water and gorgeous sand. The cottage completely made the holiday for us cannot recommend it highly enough.

“Spacious cottage, beautiful beach...perfect for families, friends and dogs!”
Reviewed 22 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We visit Beadnell two or three times a year and this is our third stay in Seabreeze. It's a spacious, clean and well appointed cottage in a great location, only a short walk from a fantastic beach. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need...from wifi for workaholics to a Nespresso machine for coffeeholics!
Seabreeze is an ideal base for families, friends, walkers, water sports enthusiasts, dog owners and anyone who enjoys the beautiful surroundings of Northumberland.

“Ultimate relaxation for us and our labradors - heaven on earth”

We fell in love with Seabreeze Cottages five years ago this month and return 2-3 times a year. Never disappointed. Cottage is fantastic and very clean and homely and well equipped. The beach is fantastic and there are many great walks nearby.
If you want to step out of the hustle and bustle of hectic everyday life and just have some time out to relax and unwind then look no further. These properties are relaxing from the minute you open the door to the minute you leave.
Our labrador cries when we pack up to come home and sulks for days when we get back.
Last summer we took my in-laws and the downstairs bedroom and bathroom were great as they are elderly. They loved sitting in the conservatory in the sun reading the paper and many information leaflets and tourist guides available in the cottage.
The sky tv is great for wet afternoons and broadband is due to be installed soon too

if we could score higher on trip advisor we most certainly would
