We stayed recently for two nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast package. Our room was well appointed and comfortable, (though relatively small), and our meals were excellent, both breakfast and dinner. Great service from friendly staff.

My wife and I had an excellent meal for the last night of our holiday. Food was delicious, very well prepared and presented. And I couldn't believe the prices - very reasonable. The staff could not have been more accommodating, so helpful and cheerful though they must have been run off their feet as it was the relaxation of lockdown combined with half term and lovely weather. A special Thank You must go to the manager for his help.

Had an excellent evening meal here on the final night of our holiday. Ate from the a la carte menu and it didn't disappoint. Superb value for money given the quality, friendly staff and a really relaxing atmosphere. Excellent views out the front of the restaurant too, even in the rain,

Called into this pub whilst on holiday in Swaledale. Had not booked but the extremely accommodating staff were happy to let us eat and were happy to allow our Labrador into the restaurant.
The beer “Black Sheep” was superb and there was an impressive wine list.
The meal was first rate, beautifully cooked and served by attentive and helpful staff.
We had the Beef and Ale pie with fresh vegetables. The pie was freshly cooked, full of meat and gravy. The mash potatoes and fresh veg were clearly cooked to order.
Probably best to book. Well worth a visit. Nothing was to much trouble.

We visited for a drink and the real ales were in excellent condition. Must have good food as many people in having meals. Relaxed, comfortable conditions.
Set on main road through Swaledale, an ideal village pub.
