“Great Site - very clean...Pool awful!”

Hired a new 2013 model to stay in for a week with my family, on arrival the welcome was efficient but somewhat lacking in warmth. The Caravan was spotlessly clean and well maintained. it provided the level of comfort I would expect and was kitted out with a good range of utensils pot pans etc....The site itself is well laid out and maintenance staff seem to be constantly keeping it groomed. I did not buy the week pass for the pool ....and have to say I am glad I didn't, we visited once and found it to be a bit grim! the pool had a large tide mark and was full of sand, the changing rooms were filthy and the slide was totally non slip! I did not use the bar area so can't comment on that (didn't open until evening). The shop was well stocked and very reasonable, the staff here were good. The site was busy at weekends and possibly a bit rowdy in places but it didn't bother us at all. A decent kids play area was available and a large dog exercising area to keep your 4 legged friend happy. Great site all in all in a good location for exploring!

“Great break”
Reviewed 16 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Stayed a week with family, using as a base for York, & Whitby.

Great location, did not use other facilities other than their brilliant chippy. Fantastic local farmshop with homemade coleslaw to die for, Pool looked good for its size, but we are daft enough to brave the North Sea.

If camping on the top you will have to make sure everything well secured as nice n breezy & by the cliff(obvious, but glad to be in a caravan)

'Path' to beach for the mountain goats............Filey is smashing - we thought much better than Scarborough.

Only 'niggle' was the Wi-Fi was just the one & could not be shared. If you have more than 1 teenager this will cause an issue..................

The caravan we had was lovely, very clean and honestly looked brand new (maybe it was). If you are travelling make sure you take top sheets as the covers although keep you warm are itchy.

The swimming pool changing rooms are awful, the pool needs updated and the staff lacked any sort of personality. Once in a week (and we went swimming sometimes twice a day) were we welcomed.

The staff in the bar lacked any personality but the entertainment was good. The bar area needs updated (in my opinion).

My arrival was just that an arrival, no welcome, no information. I was handed a key and a sheet. On leaving I wasn't even asked if I enjoyed my stay.

Personally, I could have coped with the dated pool/lounge if the staff made me feel welcome. I honestly believe that makes all the difference.

“A lovely caravan park - well looked after”

We booked this park on line for ourselves and grandchildren (age 6 and 16) for 2 nights. The caravan was lovely and comfortable and clean. Got the central heating working and perfect. (the weather was awfull) The caravan was a bit short of utensils but we managed. We also took our own bedding (sheets, quilts etc) but there was blankets. The site is NOT a mad noisy busy site and this suited us. We went to the club on the night. In this month there was no entertainment but we were told they had it in the busy months. The pool was lovley and clean and there was a lady life guard who was very good. The shop is very well stocked and very helpfull staff. The playground for the children must be second to none and was great. All the staff except the man in reception were very friendly. When we left he didnt even ask if we had enjoyed ourselves and if everything had been alright. (We had and it was) It wouldnt put us off having another break there even on our own.
