We have thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful week at High Beacon Cottage. The location of the cottage is second to none. 360 degree views from Lincoln one direction and we even spotted the Norfolk coast on several occasions! The cottage stands alone in the middle of the Lincolnshire Wolds one of the secrets of our countryside!
With two small children (7 and 8 year olds), the cottage worked perfectly with it being all on one level. We could relax in the garden or in the beautifully decorated lounge area while our children slept quietly in one of the rooms at the back.
The decor is so conducive for relaxing and the added touches such as the coffee machine, etc makes this, in our opinion, a top end of the range holiday cottage.
Make sure you visit The Blue Bell in Belchford, one of MANY local pubs in the area.
We will certainly be enjoying another break here in the future.

Fantastic cottage which is beautifully decorated, with breathtaking views across the Lincolnshire countryside from Lincoln cathedral 30 miles to the west to the coast 30 miles to the east.
The cottage is very cosy and very well equipped, it has everything to make your stay a home from home. The front lawn is a great place to just sit and relax with a glass of wine and take in the peaceful surroundings, with the added bonus of a week of lovely sunshine we couldn't have asked for more.
Just back from a sunny week with the family and we had a brilliant time. The cottage has been newly updated and the modern but cosy décor has been really well done. The views are brilliant and the location superb, really peaceful. It was red hot while we were there - the main bedroom has a big sliding door which we had wide open - a treat with your cuppa and book on a morning. A good space at the front for the boys age 9 and 11 to run about and the Play Station was an added bonus for them and for us while we had a lie in! Heidi and Mike made us feel welcome with a few nice touches.
We visited Lincoln which was a lovely city had a great tapas by the Castle at Olivares outside in the sun. We did a couple of National Trust properties Belton House, great outdoor play area and miniature train and Gunby Hall, gorgeous gardens. Recommend Montebello Ristarante - Italian at what was the Angel Inn in Horncastle.
Had lots of seaside fun, visited Cleethorpes, Maplethorpe, Ingoldmels, Sutton on Sea (quieter resort, had great fish n chips at The Dolphin) and Skegness. Think we liked Skegness the best lots of ice cream, buckets and spades, candy rock etc! Boys loved Big Kidz Karting even though Dad won!
A great week, brilliant weather and we were so relaxed at High Beacon we didn't want to leave!
