Description: Welcome to The Wheatsheaf at Bough Beech, an independent pub restaurant serving freshly-made, inspiring food, cooked in our own kitchen by chef David Fuller and his talented team. We use only the finest local ingredients and produce from our kitchen garden to create seasonal dishes we think you'll love. But don't just take our word for it – have a look at our menus. Situated on the edge of the High Weald in west Kent, The Wheatsheaf is a stone's throw from Bough Beech reservoir, and just five minutes drive from Hever Castle. Once a hunting lodge rumoured to have been a much-loved retreat for King Henry VIII, it's still a firm local favourite today – and with its welcoming atmosphere, it's not hard to see why. Now known for beautifully-prepared, locally-sourced food and a fine selection of wines and real ales, The Wheatsheaf is a cosy haven in the winter with roaring log fires and in the summer you can soak up the sun on our beautiful terrace. Cyclists, horse riders, walkers (and dogs, if you call in advance) are always welcome, and with plenty of parking available there's every reason to visit – so what are you waiting for?

We went to the Wheatsheaf on the off chance. Our hotel locally had let down and this was only a mile away. What a lucky find. The food was superb, fresh, flavourful and good portions. The two girls who were waiting on table that evening were brilliant. They knew everything about the menu and the wine list and offered advise on the choice of wine when needed.
For the quality of the meal we thought the price was a bargain.
Thank you guys for making our Golden Wedding meal a meal to remember.
I'm just sorry we live so far away but will recommend you to all we can

We've been here often and always enjoy a lovely lunch in the fabulous surroundings of this old pub. The day we visited was particularly sunny and fresh so we sat outside side. Our lunch didn't disappoint. My husband at the Ribs which was a very generous portion which came with toasted ciabatta and chips. I had a summer salad, Salmon with Pomegranate and Clementine. It was new to the menu - it was totally delicious and perfect for a spring day. The Salmon was very succulent and the portion was very generous. I would never have thought of putting salmon with pomegranate and clementine but it sounded delicious and it didn't disappoint at all. Staff are very friendly and helpful and admittedly we were there on a quite day but we were well served and welcomed. Another fabulous experience.
