“Lovely cottage in an idyllic setting.”
Reviewed 30 May 2011 for a stay in May 2011

Our contact with the owners was excellent and we received much advice with regard to local amenities. The cottage is ideally suited for accessing all the local attractions. It is in a fantastic spot with views overlooking the Solent - the beach is about 100m from the cottage, as is Fort Victoria. The garden backs on to the Island coastal path, so is perfectly positioned for walking - the area has fantastic walks!
The cottage is close to the harbour town of Yarmouth. (15 mins walk or about 3 mins by car) The town has excellent restaurants, pubs and has a great buzz.
The cottage itself is lovely and cosy. It had everything that we wanted for our weeks stay.

“A cosy home from home in a wonderful location”
Reviewed 24 May 2011 for a stay in May 2011

The property itself is lovely - far more spacious than it appears from the outside and furnished well. The property is also baby friendly - the lounge is carpeted and (provided you don't put the woodburner on!) there's nothing in there that can cause any problems. We travelled with a 12 month old and had no problems. The cottage has all mod cons, we had everything we needed (and more). The owners are flexible, friendly and accomodating. They facilitated a last-minute trip with a ridiculous check-in time, provided baby equipment and provided little touches that can make a big difference (the homemade shortbread was divine and the wine honesty box is a great idea!).

The location is great - it was fantastic to be able to walk the very short distance (literally 1 minute) down on to the beach in a morning. It's also great that you can easily walk into Yarmouth, which has a good range of pubs, restaurants and local shops. I'd recommend the steak at 'On the Rocks' and also the Subo Chinese take-away in Freshwater.

We hope to return and would recommend this cottage.
