The one good thing about this hotel is it is walking distance from train station.

Tuesday at 23:00 the music was loud coming from either the pub or a neighbouring room and the noise from the rooms was unacceptable. Plus banging doors.

The room was tired, tatty, very basic (but not that budget). clean enough but patched ceiling, peeling paint and stained carpet.

I would rather spend money on a taxi and stay further away from station/ office.

Stayed here for 1 night on a business trip.
I was a late arrival and was met by a friendly couple and their dog. This turns out to be a great tactic as the dog is a fantastic distraction to the reception area condition.
The room was ok, tidy but needs some TLC from the cleaner wouldn't go a miss.
The tv turned on but the signal was poor so unwatchable, did return the tv to no avail.
There were tea and coffee facilities in the room but no kettle.

Breakfast was really good and the staff attentive and friendly.

I paid £95 for the room which is way over the odds for what I got.
Not fussy but when you pay that much, you expect more.

I stayed at the Raven for 7 nights and received a warm welcome by Jacob, the room i was given was ground floor so when you opened the window there,s the pavement!! i could not leave the window open at night.... i was moved to the second floor.
Bed was comfy and room was clean.

Breakfast was cooked lovely when the chef was on time, breakfast stated 7-10 he was still cooking at 7....so missed a couple due to work, as for the waitress they were in another world and the young ones did not seem bothered by their mistakes..

The only waitress with any common sense was Kat who was very helpful and always had a smile, however Kat was always up against the chef telling him breakfast should be ready as dinners are waiting, so she did have her work cut out with him...
As we all know the kitchen is the engine of any hotel and this works well when all concerned work together.

I did enjoy my stay and i would stay there again, some of the reviews i would say are a bit over the top with low reviews. try a visit as its worth it!!

Keep the good work up Kat!!!!

Room tip: Stay off the ground floor as the pavement is right there!!!

We stayed for a weekend B + B and found the Hotel to be clean and warm with all usual facilities.. ie . TV Tea and coffee making facilities and free wi fi. The breakfast was a Buffet style with Juices , Yoghurts, Pastries , Fresh Fruit, and full cooked with Toast , Tea and Coffee. ..very plentiful .A large car park on site... but one tip, DONT pay for your parking before checking in!! Friendly Staff and a helpful Hotel manager added to the experience. All in all a very pleasant stay ....
