Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Nice Break in Forest of Dean
Thoroughly enjoyed our 7 nights stay at The Little Acorn. The accommodation is cosy, quaint and is very well equipped for the guests every need. There is a pretty and private terrace with a patio table and 2 chairs to enjoy if the weather is kind. There are good bars and restaurants within walking distance and the Dean Valley Railway is a 2 minute walk. There are some brilliant walks nearby and this is also a great base for exploring the lovely Forest of Dean.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful area
We had a wonderful relaxing stay in this warm, comfortable and well equipped apartment which consists of a bedroom/sitting room, decent size kitchen and a bathroom. There was plenty of room for us as a couple. It was well placed for walking into Parkend village which has two pubs, a cafe, a shop, steam train station and other outdoor pursuits facilities such as bike hire. It was easy to.park either on the road or round the corner in the road leading to the Church. (A wander up the lane to the Church is definitely worth doing). Michelle was such a friendly and welcoming host. We were there over Halloween and loved her decorations. The area is beautiful especially in autumn and despite not having the best of weather we were able to get out and about and do lots of things. Because you are next to a road and on a hill we did hear traffic but we didn't find it a major issue and it was quiet throughout the night when we slept like logs in the hu large comfy bed. We would happily come back and would definitely recommend.

Cosy, Clean Cottage stay......
The Little Acorn is very much home from home. Well equipped kitchen, very clean throughout, pretty little courtyard garden and nicely decorated. Great location for the various Forest of Dean walks/nature reserves......GoApe is just down the road, as is Puzzlewood, Steam Railway..... We had a lovely meal at The Woodman in the village too. Lots of positive reviews in their guest book!

Comfy hideaway
Lovely spacious studio apartment with the most comfy big bed. Lots of personal touches like his and hers robes, yummy biscuits, milk, shower gel, garage to park bikes safely etc. Perfect for a weekend break, romantic escape and within easy walk to pubs with delicious food and cycle routes.

A beautiful apartment, well presented with good facilities. It’s an ideal setting to relax and allows for exploration of the Forest of Dean. A beautiful getaway space in a lovely area
We had 2 full days (3 nights) based in The Little Acorn, which was a lovely place to be. Nice welcome, everything spotless, peaceful decor, comfy, cosy, warm, well-equipped. We had lovely trips out walking, birdwatching etc and there was so much more we wanted to do but this was just a short break, so we hope to return sometime.

Great base to explore the forest of dean.
We had a really lovely time exploring the forest of dean with 'the little acorn' as our base. The apartment is in a really great location for exploring with useful amenities on your doorstep. 30 seconds walk to parkend station from which you can start a journey on the dean forest railway and a ten minute drive to puzzlewood among other places and walks being really close by. The property itself is clean, tidy, well presented but also warm and cosy. It is listed on trip advisor as a studio apartment, this does it a disservice. There is a large, separate kitchen which was perfect for us, so if put off by the idea of a studio don't be. The living and bed space is one space but it is really big, really cosy and comfortable. It was ideal for us as a place to stay and Michelle was really friendly and helpful. Milk, tea, coffee, sugar and some biscuits were all there already to get us going, what else do you need?

Forest of Dean perfect base
This was a real find. Beautifully clean, modern and comfy wifi absolutely essential there and the host made sure we had the code to contact our children with and even offered her house phone if we'd prefer We visited castles and abbeys, beautiful autumnal walks, sculpture trails and caves to name but a few. The best evening was spent at nearby lydney harbour. So calm. Nearby village shop and bike hire (if you're feeling energetic ) and 2 pubs (if you're not ) Steam train and go ape nearby. Truly a lovely place to stay and a lovely break.
