Owner description: Site of archaeological interest with panoramic views and waymarked trails. Café open 8am-6pm seven days a week. Crickley Hill is one of the finest examples of unimproved limestone grassland in the county and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its rich diversity of wildflowers such as yellow wort, carline thistle, autumn gentian and clustered bellflower. It also supports good populations of butterflies such as Chalkhill Blue. It is also important for adders and slow worms. From these limestone grasslands the reserve affords fantastic views over the Severn Vale. In addition to its rich wildlife the site is also important archaeologically, and has a rich documented history extending back over 5000 years and is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. - Picnic facilities - Toilets (including with disabled access ) - Car parking charges apply. Park open daily from 6am. Gates locked at 6pm (Jan, Feb, Nov & Dec), 7pm (Mar & Oct), 9.30pm (Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug & Sep).

You cannot take a coach here, which is not stated on the site. On our visit last week the manager of the cafe was extremely rude and aggressive to our party. He has very poor management skills, let us buy food and drink and then told us to "get out" as he didn't like our tour guide, who didn't know that you couldn't bring a coach to the carpark. The cafe manager has serious anger problems and does not know how to handle small problems which could have easily be overcome. The group found him to be quite scary. I am really not sure what is wrong with him. Otherwise the place is beautiful.

The whole area along this edge of the Cotswolds affords some excellent walking on often well made paths and the views on a clear day are ever changing over Gloucester, Chgeltenham and Stroud.

Great spot to pop out to for family walk and latterly with dog. Always manage to find a slightly different route and love the ability to extend the walks depending on who you are walking with and time available. Make sure you take some change for the parking which is no longer free. £1 for 2 hours.

Brilliant view just off the main road. We went for a brisk walk on a clear sunny day and you can see for miles at the top. The car park is at the top of the viewpoint so no need for any strenuous climb. The path can be a little bit slippery as your walking across a slope mainly until you get to the flat path near the top. If your driving by you must take the time to stop off here as it’s will only an a few mins drive from the road. You won’t regret it :))
