Great place to visit with my toddler grand daughter. See the ducks, geese, coots, moorhens and swans with their chicks and cygnets. Beautiful rose garden coming into bloom with longer walks into the Lea Valley Park. Free parking for up to 1 hour with the Abbey Church as a backdrop to most views. My grand daughter loves this peaceful place.

The gardens are a great place to take and walk or stroll. You can also visit the Church and the few shops in the waltham abbey

Pretty gardens, cherry blossom and daffodils. Ideal place for family picnic. Easy parking close to high street. Pretty stream with families feeding ducks and dads playing ball with kiddies. Almost 1,000 years of history and yet does not cost a penny to visit.
Very close to Cornmill butterfly meadow and many local walks in Lea Valley. Lots of exercise to be had in very pleasant surroundings. All car parks now free for first hour but prices vary there after

We used to live in the Abbey and would walk our dog there. It's wonderful in the Spring especially walking under the tunnel of cherry blossom trees and spotting ducklings and cygnets in April are a bonus. We still have connections to the Abbey, so pop back now and then, and are surprised not to see coachloads of tourists to this historic town. Charging for parking is just wrong and greedy.

Nice place to visit, with the museum in the main town within walking distance, also a magnificent Abbey Church with the white water rafting just 1/4 of a mile away plus great views of London if your prepared to walk for 20 minuets up to the hill at the top of Monkhams where the old WW2 observation post is. Summer is beautiful in the gardens ample parking but now it is pay and display, the cafe next to the Abbey Church is the best in town hands down and the angel Pub or crown seem nice.
