Nice place to visit, with the museum in the main town within walking distance, also a magnificent Abbey Church with the white water rafting just 1/4 of a mile away plus great views of London if your prepared to walk for 20 minuets up to the hill at the top of Monkhams where the old WW2 observation post is. Summer is beautiful in the gardens ample parking but now it is pay and display, the cafe next to the Abbey Church is the best in town hands down and the angel Pub or crown seem nice.

I love walking thru the Abbey Gardens with my dog on a daily basis.I love listening to and watching the birds and the squirrels as they dart about in the trees. The grounds keepers do an amazing job year round planting pruning and grounds maintainence,my only complaint is the amount of dog pooh that is on the ground. Come on people clean up after your dog PLEASE.

A lovely, local, place to relax, feed the ducks, observe the swans and other wildlife or just admire the beatifically kept gardens. There are picnic tables and plenty of space for young ones to run around or play sports. Only downside is the recently re-introduced Parking Charges - Free for 1 hour or £2.50 all day.

Could only have changed recently. Only found out by way of a £ 60 fine from ParkingEye. They say the signs are clear. I have used that car park for years and am sure I would have seen them if they had been installed. I don't know when they were installed but I have a feeling the camera was there before the signs. If any one else got caught out I'd like to know.

A lovely place to walk and enjoy the roses in the Abbey gardens or take a longer walk by following The Meridian Trail. Great for dogs and families
