It would be difficult to fault the restaurant in this lovely countryside hotel. At present I cannot speak about the accommodation offered but our recent visit to the restaurant was a treat. The staff are friendly, efficient and obviously well trained to give a quality service. The dinner menu was extensive and interesting although perhaps it would (from my daughter's point of view) have been good to have a little more choice for vegetarians. Overall the food was beautifully cooked, served and presented well. The wine list was adequate and not too expensive. Thank you for a lovely experience.

We were in Sedlescombe for a family function , we decided to stay at the Brickwall this hotel is charming full of history , the room was a little antiquated but that is to be expected in a listed building, the bed was fantastic but shower not great .
The bonus was breakfast cooked fresh and waiter service (beats the self service congealed slop of the budget hotels) Would recommend any visitor from abroad would love the history of the house

My family and friend stayed at the Brickwall Hotel 15 - 19 September, 2017. We had two rooms. I have stayed at the Brickwall many times over the last seven years and as always I found the rooms, food and overall service to be excellent. You can find a newer hotel as part of the Brickwall Hotel dates to the 15th century but that's one of the aspects of this wonderful hotel that makes it so charming. Giulio and the entire staff strive to make your stay a wonderful relaxing experience.

Room Tip: There is a conservatory available for family or company dinners and parties. There is adequate free parking for guests.

What a lovely place to stay . Cosy warm and inviting , our room was just great for us and our dog.Lovely comfy bed and ensuite facility.Tea and coffee supplied.
All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were very knowledgeable and gave friendly advice re menu and wines.
The food was outstandingly, good hot well presented and plenty on the plate. The waiters were very courteous.
A member of staff let us kindly know when our dog started whimpering in the room when we were having dinner in the restaurant. No one complained about our dog's distress. All staff so very kind, helpful in the morning serving a delicious breakfast to us in our room.
We could not have wished for a better place to stay , we highly recommend them.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms good for dogs

Wavering between a 3 and 4 for the overall rating.

The food was really good.

However, for £110 per night I do expect to be able to stand up to have a shower.

The only shower facility was a hand held one over the bath.
