we arrived at 01:30 in the night to a previously booked room. We went into the room of 4 beds where there supposed to be 2 free beds but there were 3 ppl sleeping and the 4th bed was full of stuff. One guest woke up upon our arrival and started to scream angrily at us to go away. We showed our keys we just got from the reception but she said she doesn't care, it's their room, we must go away. So we went to the reception where they told us that there is some problem with the bookings, these people should have left that room. We got another room at the end. This was at the time when Norwegian Airlines went on strike, so I understand that it's a messy time but I also think in a small hostel like this they should keep track who is sleeping where, who left and who didn't etc, even in messy times.

Room was clean end neat and price was decent but it is quite long walk to the village. Breakfast was good an short way to resturaunt and the public house. Price was decent in comparison with Longyearbyen in general.

As far as I could tell, this is the cheapest accommodation in Longyearbyen.
Don't expect a lot of charm or personality, this is essentially an old mining barrack turned into a hostel. But then again, one doesn't come all the way to Longyearbyen to hang in a hostel...
The staff was nice and helpful, and the hostel is clean. The beds are comfortable enough. There is one kitchen and a TV room. I never had to queue for showers or bathroom.
Guesthouse 102 is located about 20min walk from the center. It's a nice walk in the summer, but if you're staying there in the winter, you may regret having to walk up and down ti town several times a day.
Sometimes you find hostels that are so exceptional, with locations so great you wonder who would ever want to pay more for a traditional hotel. This is not one of these times. Guesthouse 102 provides a (much) cheaper alternative to the hotels in the center, but at the cost of a less convenient location and a somewhat dull atmosphere.

A much cheaper option in Longyearbyen than the majority of hotels with very friendly, helpful staff. It's a simple place to stay but clean, comfortable with all necessary amenities. It's a bit of a walk into the center but anyone visiting the Arctic should be prepared for a bit of an explore. I have stayed here for work now a couple of times and wouldn't book anywhere else.

Room Tip: The twin/double rooms are only a bit more expensive than a dorm for 2 people and good value

The price was very reasonable compared to other properties in Longyearbyen during summer. Quiet single room with private basin and shared bathroom and toilet. The latter was clean and convenient. Breakfast was good and plenty.

The only drawback was the distance to the downtown, about 20 minutes walk slightly uphill. Hope to have free wifi.
