“Quiet relaxing atmosphere”

Li Co Chinese and Italian Restaurant

When we want a nice quiet dinner with relaxing music and some home made Chinese food (as opposed to the generic recipes many Chinese restaurants serve) we go to Li Co. The hot tea is served freshly brewed in infuser pots and the menu has a very nice variety of beef, chicken, pork and seafood entrees, and the food is tasty. The wait staff is friendly and helpful.

Staff was right there for us in a quiet way. There were a friendly group of people eating for Easter.

The décor was nice as was the host. The food was not so good, the rice was undercooked and there was no flavor in any of the dishes that was order. It was hard to have a conversation due to the host/waitress asking many questions. For the price you pay for the food you don't get a lot. If you are in the mood for Chinese food that is really good, go just about .25 mile down the road to the China Wok. I marked the service as poor due to the host/waitress not letting use have a full conversation.

It seems every small town in Ohio has a little Chinese restaurant, and Bluffton has a couple, with Li Co being the newest. Nice decor, and an oasis among way too familiar fast food places right off I-75. The hot and sour soup is excellent, and the Kung Pao chicken stands up well with any competitor.. I wish i had tried them when they also served Italian specialties, but apparently, that chef returned to China. Oh, well. On a Friday night, it was one persopn running the show and she did a fine job of it.

Li Co has a very loyal local following. The food is excellent, the service is as well. Cost of a meal includes salad (Yes, an "odd" offering at a Chinese restaurant!) or soup, egg roll and your entree. The Italian offerings are no longer available- the cook for those things returned home to China. This is a family business, locally owned and operated and you can either dine in or take out.
The sesame chicken, moo goo gai pan and fried rice are family favorites at my house.
