“Cosy, clean, and perfectly located for a weekend away in the peaks”
Reviewed 28 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

I stayed here with three friends for a weekend in the peaks. The cottage was very homely and clean. We loved the lounge with the comfy sofa and log burner. A few DVDs and games would have been a good extra addition. The cottage was centrally located in the village, which was perfect for starting walks, and near to a great fish and chip shop!

Many thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you had a lovely stay. A draw full of DVDs could be found under the television set and Monopoly and a pack of cards should have been found on the bookcase behind the sofa. If they've all gone then please let me know and I'll have to investigate...

“Fabulous Fernlea”
Reviewed 15 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We had a great couple of days in Fernlea despite the rainy January weather. The cottage was so cosy and really nicely done, being modern yet homely and with touches of rustic! We were very comfortable in the cottage and had a lovely package of essential food on arrival. The right-angled sofa is a joy. Tideswell is a great Peak district village with plenty of little shops and pubs. All in all we didn't want to leave!

“Highly recommended”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Fernlea doesn't disappoint, what you see in the photos is what you get. Very comfortable and cosy. A traditional cottage with modern furnishings which made us feel at home very quickly (which is helpful when taking 2 children aged 13 & 9). The Eccles cakes & milk were a very welcome treat when we arrived, but didn't last long! All the essentials & more were provided by the owner. Tideswell is a gorgeous village to stay, very friendly and central to The Peak District. We visited George Inn, Horse and Jockey & Elliots Fish & Chips, lovely service & food in them all!!! Also brought home a bag of treats from the local bakery.

“Warm, Clean & Cozy”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Fernlea Cottage was absolutely perfect. We had such a peaceful stay. The cottage itself had such a warm, cozy feel, as though I was staying at a friend's home. We parked in the main sq - about 15 steps away. The village of Tideswell was quiet and the people were very friendly. The town had shops for essentials: grocery shop, bakery, butcher and coffee shops. I will definitely recommend this to friends.

“Fantastic time, highly recommend to all my friends”
Reviewed 26 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We had a super time at Fernlea. The house was really 'homely', the food that was left was a lovely touch. The location of Fernlea is excellent - we went to Castleton for the day. The locals were really nice and made us feel really welcome (gave us directions for a local walk). We shall definitely use this accommodation again when we next visit the Peaks.
