Stayed in the Cowshed for a second visit. 'Cowshed' under-sells this lovely little cottage, It is a converted milking shed which is now a homely, one-bedroom cottage in the grounds of Flatt Farm. It is small but has everything that you need. The well-stocked, very clean kitchen area has everything you need to prepare meals and the lounge area has a wood-burning stove, making it feel very cosy... even when the fire is not lit! The bedroom and bathroom are well-appointed and there is a beautiful stained glass window between the lounge and bedroom that adds colour. The decor is modern but still retains a rustic feel.
This is not a place to take children. It is a quiet retreat with easy access to the Peak District. Great for couples or singles. Pub nearby which serves good food. Peak district about two miles away. Want to go for nice walks? Just go out of the gate, turn right and off you go. On the way back you can stop off at the pub for lunch, dinner or just a drink. The owners of the Cowshed welcome you and will do all they can to ensure that you settle in quickly to enjoy your break. Compact, quiet, peaceful.More
