Very friendly welcome, excellent food and drink. Room could do with a bit of tlc, for example the bathroom door latch doesn’t work and noise from the courtyard below leaks into the room late in the evening. Staff all went the extra mile to make our stay memorable, and we enjoyed discovering the delights of historic Belper.

Very pleasant hotel. Staff were very helpful, check in was good. Good location as it was close to all amenities. Didn't sample an evening meal but breakfast was good with variety on the menu.Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. Good value for money.

Nice hotel. Very clean, well presented, respectable. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Nice town. Didn't eat in the hotel for dinner so can't comment. It was busy so expect a bit of bar noise. But would definitely return. Happy to recommend.

We stayed here for two nights in rooms 5, 15 and 18. We were really pleased with the hospitality shown by everyone, but especially by Clayton. On arriving he made sure we had everything we needed and even went out of his way to arrange a five seater taxi that would be needed for the following day in order to get us to the wedding in time.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean and we loved the fact that they were decorated in a modern grey and white decor with new carpets throughout.

The restaurant provided a excellent meal with plenty to choose from including excellent pizzas. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We would highly recommend staying here.

Thanks to all the staff at the Lion hotel, you’re doing a great job and made us feel very welcome

Stayed two nights whilst visiting friends who live nearby. Excellent location as near to mill and historic buildings. Had a deluxe room, good size with comfortable bed but would have been nice to have propr armchairs. Very plain bathroom with shower over bath, they could make more of it as good amount of space.Breakfast was cooked to order and very good but prepacked croissants disappointing. Bar pleasant and restaurant has wide choice of reasonably priced food. Service is excellent.
