“Perfect and Cosy Winter Retreat”
Reviewed 31 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We had a winter break for a couple of nights at Swallows Cottage. It was perfect! There was a lovely warm welcome on our arrival, the cottage is fitted out with everything you could need, not to mention the beautiful log fire. Set in a lovely area, with some gorgeous walks, we had a truly wonderful stay. We cant wait to visit again in the summer to make the most of the pool! I couldn't recommend it more highly!

“Beautiful 5 Star Country Retreat”

This has to be one of the most beautiful cottages to holiday in. Beautifully & tastefully presented - a real Interior designers touch is apparent. Farrow & Ball walls, leather sofa, four poster bed, luxurious fabrics - what more can you ask for. So cosy with the log burner going. We had a great pre Christmas reunion weekend here - and it looked so beautiful decorated for Christmas. The countryside is amazing with pheasants in the grounds. Izzy is delighful but very unobtrusive. A delightful cottgage in a delightful and scenic area. We shall return many times to this outstanding cottage. Thanks again Izzy.

“Just Perfect”
Reviewed 1 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Our family of 4 have had a fabulous time staying at this lovely cottage set in its extensive and beautiful gardens. Izzy was very welcoming and helpful, the cottage is wonderfully equipped and a great place to relax in at the end of a day walking or cycling. Lots of info on local events and places of interest is included in the welcome pack and there are loads of DVD's and board games. Our kids spent most of their time in the pool or playing table tennis and croquet. We had THE most fabulous walk straight from the cottage through adjacent countryside and to local pubs and we also took on the 8 mile bike ride around the near by reservoir ..... bikes were hired at a reasonable rate. A perfect place for relaxing and or exploring.

Thank you so much for your lovely review and I'm so pleased you had such a great visit. The pool has been so popular during this incredible Summer - it really is fantastic to see it in full use. Carsington Water is perfect for cycling - you did well doing the whole circuit! They also offer sailing and other water-based sports courses which are fun for the children (and adults). I think you might have done the walk to Tissington from the back door - great with children - only 30 minutes and they can then be rewarded at the old-fashioned sweetie shop in Tissington! Do come back and see us again soon - there's plenty to do in the Autumn and Winter, too.

“A very warm welcome!”
Reviewed 17 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

An ideally placed cottage that is well equipped with all the home from home comforts. All the basics were available in the kitchen and it seemed that nothing would be too much trouble for Izzy to provide or help out with. All the information and photos were accurate and our two girls enjoyed the extensive games and DVDs available, exploring the large garden and pool which is available from 10-4. Overall, a luxurious, place to stay and explore the Peak District.

Liked best: The styling inside which is straight out of a Country Living magazine and the surprising amount of space
Liked least: Would have been ideal if the pool was available earlier or later to fit in with busy days out.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It's always good to know that we have provided enough kitchen "kit" - in the same vein we always want to know if we can provide anything extra. I always think that when you stay somewhere it should be at least as nice as home to make it a proper break.

“A home from home- only better...”
Reviewed 15 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We booked the cottage for a relaxing girly weekend away and it was perfect. We received a very warm welcome from the owner Izzy who is lovely and very accommodating. The cottage itself is large, comfortable and homely- there is plenty of room for four. The surroundings are gorgeous and there is space to wander if you fancy a walk into the farmland. We also used the pool every afternoon which was on a delightful terrace and lovely and warm. We hope to make this a regular trip.
