Good customer service but poor chips soggy tasteless fish and unseasoned mushy peas. The mortel man in Troutbeck is much better and will be going back there instead.

Called in last Saturday on our way from Ullswater. Lovely spot and the sun was shining so we sat outside. Staff were cheerful smiley and happy. We didn't eat as we were booked somewhere else, but will do next time.

Stayed one night bed and breakfast, polite and nice staff, lovely bed room and wet room, breakfast was ample and filling. The decor through out was tastefully done and the woodwork is especially nice. The cask ales where very nice.

Good quality rooms which are well designed but the staff are lacking and the place doesn’t seem to be well run. Beautiful views and location. The chap seemingly in-charge was rather bitter and unfriendly. Infrastructure good but overall average, sadly. £179

Popped in for lunch Today after meeting the new Management the other week, we impressed with the new decor much lighter and airy , great outside area, very dog friendly. All staff were friendly and food was delicious, I had the cheese and onion pie it was very good and well worth going back for. Look forward to coming and trying the outside seating once the weather perks up.
