“Fabulous cottage, highly recommended!”
Reviewed 18 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Absolutely charming cottage, immaculately clean, equipped with everything we could possibly require.
Wonderful friendly owners. The fire was lit, Xmas tree was decorated and twinkling in the conservatory, chocolates and homemade biscuits were provided too for our new year stay, Christine and John had thought of everything! The cottage is located in a beautiful spot ideal for exploring the walks in the area.
We really couldn't recommend the cottage enough, and next time we are in the uk we will definitely visit again, thank you John and Christine for a wonderful stay.

“A hidden gem of a cottage!”
Reviewed 19 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

We were late organising our break this year and cottages we’d stayed in previously were unavailable, leaving us with the sinking feeling that all the good places were booked. How wrong we were – Grisedale Cottage is definitely one of the best! From the initial enquiry the owners were extremely helpful and the paperwork was some of the most informative we’ve ever received. We were welcomed by a roaring fire and cake (very welcome after a long journey!), and lots of useful advice on the locality from Christine. The cottage itself is well sited between the villages of Glenridding and Patterdale, with both in easy walking distance. There’s a large collection of books, games, dvd’s etc – and a kitchen well-equipped enough to prepare for a dinner party! The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, although the en-suite is a little on the small side but that’s the nature of the building. It’s an ideal base for mountain walking and we wouldn’t have moved the car all week if the weather hadn’t driven us off the high fells, but it only took a short drive to find lower walks and discover hidden corners we didn’t know existed. All in all a great week, and we’ll definitely be back!

“Perfect place, lovely cottage, helpful owners, fabulous holiday.”
Reviewed 23 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Cottage very well equipped, owners were helpful when asked for assistance and unobtrusive otherwise. We all enjoyed walking and canoeing at the water centre 10 min walk from the cottage, also a 10 min walk to pubs, we didn't move the car all week. It was great. Cottage clean and welcoming. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

“Grisedale Cottage”

A lovely cottage with all facilities - very comfortable and well equipped with the added benefit of a sauna (on coin meter) which was great after sailing and walking. Comfortable bed, nice conservatory and a lovely little garden which was perfect as we had lovely weather for our week's stay.
