“Fantastic cottage to explore the Lake District.”
Reviewed 8 January 2019 for a stay in December 2018

What a fantastic old cottage this is it is full of character and so big. Me my wife mother in law and Sammie the dog stayed for 7 days over Christmas and loved every minute. The cottage has everything you could ask for. Lorraine the owner was so lovely from booking to checking out she was fantastic and the lovely gifts we where left by her where a lovely touch Thank you again Lorraine. There are Great views of the black Combe that we managed to walk up from all the rooms. Your about 30 minutes drive from coniston 45 to grassmere/Ambleside and 1hour from Keswick which we visited to do most of our walking. All your logs and coal are included in the price you pay which is a first for me when renting a cottage with a log burner normally we have had to buy our logs but not at bank springs again another great touch by the owners. Overall we couldn't fault the cottage at all and like everyone else says Rosie the donkey is a living legend. Thank you mr & mrs Wilson for an amazing stay at your amazing cottage.

“As always. Amazing”
Reviewed 5 October 2018 for a stay in September 2018

Yet another fantastic stay at Banks. As always the house is welcoming and just like a second home. The location is magical, The Combe one side, the beach another.
Never any shortage of walks or things to do. This time we too k a Trike Tour around the entire Lakes and had a brilliant time at Eskdale show. The owners, Lorraine and Alan are brilliant and go out of their way to ensure your stay is everything you hope for. If you want a true taste of the Lakes and an escape from hectic life this is most definitely the place to go

Such a lovely place. When we arrived the cottage was spotless. Very spacious and absolutely stunning views. Plenty to visit around the area. Close beaches are spectacular. Owners were so nice and helpful. The cottage was well equipped and to be fair the photos do not do it justice. Much better in person.
Fabulous place, fabulous location, fabulous owners.
We will be back!!!!
