Newly refurbished Bridge bar and restaurant is a significant improvement on the tired old place that resembled an old people's home.
Service is good with plenty of young pleasant and helpful staff. They have made good use of the outside areas now part covered and a more attractive place to eat and drink than inside.
I was told beforehand that the food was good. First clue was the a very strange menu which offered little that I wanted to eat. My partner chose terryaki salmon and I chose squid and scampi with chips. Not something I would normly go for but as I said there was little else I found appealing other than steak but I didn't want to eat meat on this occasion . £15 squid scampi and chips that came out of a frozen packet and if it didn't then there is something wrong in a kitchen if they put this meal together organically.
So this review is about the poor standard of food on offer which is pub food, not good pub food but average pub food at restaurant prices.
If the bridge deny this is the case then I would welcome them to show me around their kitchen to see how their food is prepared.More
