We were staying at the Grand Bahia Prinicipe Tulum and fancied a change of scenery from the hotel, so if you walk from the Hotels Tequila Pool and venture out onto the beach and walk left towards Akumal for about 75m, there you will find this brilliant Beach bar – lovely swings to sit on at the bar and a really great and chilled out vibe. Lovely ice cold Mexican bottled beers for 50$MEX and Eli from Denver who ran the bar most days we popped in was great, witty and easy to chat too.
They also host the local Turtle charity and I was lucky enough to see some newly hatched Turtles (during the day bizarrely) arrive, n.b. the whole beach from in front of the Tequila pool towards Akumal and the Bar is covered with posts identifying where turtles have nested. Talk to Leanna (spelling?) who owns the bar and runs the Charity and she will wax lyrical about the efforts being made to maintain the turtles natural environment in the face of some unnecessary man made issues - quite inspirational to listen too and spoke a lot of sense.
Lovely little bar with a great laid back vibe going on.
It was great to meet you last week. Wish you all the best for the future!
