We had dinner at the Tequila restaurant on November 1, 2017. We arrived on time for our 7:30 reservations, and we were escorted to our table. Usually, our dining experience is formed by ambiance, food quality and service.
AMBIANCE
The Tequila Restaurant is lovely. Its Mexican decorations are festive, the lighting is nice and the tableware is appropriately Mexican. Fancy terra-cotta type glazed plates with brightly colored Mexican patterns in blue and orange, and that heavy bubbly clear stemware with a dark blue band. Just lovely! The mariachis strolled while singing and playing, trying to stop at any celebrants table. That was nice.
SERVICE
Offered a drink. It came. Never offered a refill. Offered wine by a passing server, never offered a refill. Never offered coffees or after dinner drinks. Plates were removed about half of the times, otherwise we just stacked dirty upon dirty.
The chef did stop at our table early on. That was also nice. We were on the appetizer course.
FOOD
The food room was dirty. There was food on the floor. There were many empty trays and bowls, like guacamole. Many items did not have tags. Had ID tags been there, I would have not chosen a cayenne/paprika covered ball of salt.
When our entrees arrived, my flank steak was not only inedible, it was also uncuttable! And although the presentation was nice, the food was just not. The guacamole on the plate tasted like avocado--no onion, garlic or lime. It was flat. Fortunately, I had seen mole chicken in the starter room, so I went back for that.
I am not sure I would go to this restaurant again.
