We just came back and my wife and I both were very pleased with our supper. We were hoping to see she owners as we are from Manitoba Canada a neighbour to the west of where the owners are from. Possibly next time. Sadly we were very disappointed when we paid our bill. The waiter shorted us sixty pesos in change and when I drew this to his attention he immediately knew how much and apologized.

Tequilaville in the Akumal pueblo is a restaurant with mighty good food. The fish is fresh and the shrimp ceviche is great. Go early on a weekend night if you want the special as it may sell out by 8 p.m. The ribs, one of the specials, was particularly good.

We had dinner at Taquilaville in Akumal Pueblo to celebrate 10 years of friendship with two of our native Akumalian amigos. It was pretty quiet on a Friday night, so I guess most tourists think the only good restaurants are on the tourist/beach side of Hwy 307. They are wrong!

The food was so fresh and authentic! And the service was great!

We will definitely have dinner here again on our visit next year!

Loved getting out of the tourist zone and into town to eat at a local café. Absolutely nothing fancy but clean, good prices, good food, and welcoming management. We walked over the highway on the pedestrian overpass and 2 minutes up the main street and it's on the right. Inside but open air. Very safe. Walked another half a block up to the grocery store to pick up some groceries cheaper than down at Akumal Bay. We went for a late lunch after catching a collectivo back from the Akten Chen cenote. Walked around town and then about 10 minutes back to Akumal Bay.
