Even a series of blunders can't totally upset a visit to Telegraph Cove and a stay at the Resort. Let's start with why we were there - a 70th birthday gift from my partner. We arrived early and were welcomed with a map of the area, indication of where parking was and were pointed to where carts were to carry our baggage to our room. (cabin 9). Very clean, nicely equipped and comfortable with a wonderful view of the marina, the resort and the far off reaches of the Broughton Archipelago. Once settled in our cabin, my partner set out to confirm our dinner reservation, made months ago. Whoops, no reservation was on record, despite confirmation provided at the time of booking Oh, well, we could always go to the pub! And, the next evening's reservation was missing as well! But accommodations were made and it was retrieved. The next morning, we awoke very early to head out on a day of whale watching and grizzly sightings. In a drizzle. An hour into the all day excursions - engine trouble! Return to the marina. Switch boats. All the while the tide is rising, making for questionable conditions at Glendale Cove. Saw five bears - a black bear, a mother grizzly and her cub and two cubs recently set free from their mom's nurturing. Back to the resort to find a leak in the roof of our cabin. Solution? Switch cabins? With help? Nope! Then off to dinner. Nice evening. Good food, very pleasant staff. A little pricey but hey, when you're the only show in town ...

So, in the end, a series of 'challenges' tried hard to disrupt the experience. They failed! Telegraph Cove is a bucket list destination. Boats break down. C'est la vie. Reservations get missed. But in the end the issue is resolved. And roofs leak. In the end, the experience was worth every dollar. We will return.

Room tip: Arrive early. Double (triple) check all reservations you've made. Be prepared for the weather.

Treated ourselves to a night staying right on the boardwalk and well worth the money. Check in was very easy and the girls were so pleasant. Accommodations very clean and amenities all on site, beds were very comfortable and kitchen area well stocked. Staff all around the resort greeted you with a smile and hello and it felt they were happy to see tourists back. Will try to come back again.

Room tip: Staying on the Boardwalk is a must

Unbelievable the sweat equity that went into every plank and board to make this resort. You need to talk to Gordie or Marilyn Graham and get ready for some fascinating history of this place to appreciate its beauty. Their generosity to the environment and marine world should be more recognized. Hand carvings from world class carvers enhance the rugged beauty of this place. The food served in the restaurant was a 15 out of a perfect 10 and the service was even better. We will be back.

We stayed in 17B right on the boardwalk in Telegraph cove. It was a comfortable stay for our two families (4 adults and 4 teens). It felt like we were sleeping in a bit of history. If you are expecting posh, 5 star accommodation, go to the Empress in Victoria. This was freaking cool and wonderfully unique. Everyone we dealt with was very nice. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. I have to wonder if the Covid rules hampered the restaurants and Whale Tours for some of the other reviewers- we had no issue getting dinner in the restaurant and had an amazing tour with both Prince of Whales and North Island Kayak. Expect something unique when you visit! A great book to read before going is "Boom or Bust- The Resilient Women of Telegraph Cove".

Room tip: Good for people who enjoy history and unique experiences!
