Absolute Paradise at Paradise Cove!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 Aug 2024via mobile
When we initially booked our trip to Paradise Cove, we expected to have a lovely vacation but we never expected to have the kind of cultural immersion/experience that we had that had us crying as we left. We travelled from California with our two very active boys, ages 12 and 15. From the moment we spotted the island, we were enamored. Stunning. We did all the typical tropical water activities - snorkel (great snorkeling right off the beach in front of the hotel), kayaking, SUP, trampoline in the middle of the ocean. We even swam with the manta rays during their annual migration (this was pure magic). But then we got to know the hotel staff and that is when our vaca turned from really nice to remarkable. We went to the neighboring island to the Soso village and met the chief and played soccer with the kindergarteners during their recess. The next day, we went Handline fishing and went to a deserted island where they cooked our fish on a rock. All the while learning about the Fijian culture and way of life. The resort is luxurious, the amenities are wonderful, the rooms for a family of 4 are perfect, the food was truly incredible. And while the accolades of this resort are top notch from discerning travelers, it is the staff who make this resort an absolutely incredible experience. We expected to go to Fiji once after crossing it off of our bucket list but we are already planning our next trip to Fiji and specifically Paradise Cove.
(Side note, the Paradise Cove website is ok but doesn’t really show off how incredible the resort grounds and amenities are).
Highly highly recommend Paradise Cove.

We are repeat guests to Paradise Cove Resort. We have always enjoyed the friendly staff, the stunning beach, and the excellent snorkeling opportunities. These elements have consistently made our stays memorable and enjoyable.

However, this time we encountered several disappointments. The food quality was inconsistent—some meals were delicious, but others were completely inedible. The cocktails followed a similar pattern, with some being delightful and others undrinkable. Service was ridiculously slow, even beyond the usual "Fiji time" slow, which made dining a frustrating experience. Additionally, our bill was often incorrect, causing further inconvenience. We also couldn't drink the water provided. It tasted salty, so had the extra expense of purchasing bottled water.

A significant downside for us was the removal of the adults-only area, which has led to the resort becoming overrun with children and noise. Our Bure was located close to the kids' club, and we were woken every morning by the sounds of screaming children.

While we still appreciate some aspects of Paradise Cove Resort, these negative experiences have left us reconsidering future visits.

The most beautiful location for off the beach snorkeling, an incredible reef and Cristal clear water, beautiful surroundings.

Be aware that the compulsory meal plans are very expensive, and that the resort has a greedy attitude, you pay for the coffee at lunch time (whilst included in morning and at night)

We paid for 2 soft drinks they forgot to put on our bill, we got charged the next day for a rotten orange juice you could not drink. I complained - without success.

We booked a snorkeling trip for FJD 40, they charged us FJD 120 as we saw some mantra rays. They falsified our booking slip without our permission.

Room tip: Bring your own drinks and snacks, there is no resort shop

We stayed here for 7 nights. Room was located in the cove and it was amazing, bathroom was next level. Super clean!
The food was exceptional, meals were such a high standard, more than what we are use too.
The snorkelling off the beach was one of the best we've seen.
The staff were the best highlight of the island, the laughs we had every day, friendliness, kava ceremonies and the beautiful singing..we left our stay feeling like we had gained a whole lot of friends.

Paradise Cove is aptly named!
The beautiful environment and the fabulous team at Paradise Cove make your whole experience memorable for all the right reasons.
Nothing is too much trouble and it doesn’t matter whether you just want to laze by one of three pools or go out for the many activities - your choice is ok with them.
One of the things I really liked about our time there is that it is a relatively small resort and, as such, very relaxed and you got to meet and chat with other guests. At the bigger resorts this can be more difficult and, as a widow, I found this feature particularly enjoyable.
Now I do need to mention the food. This was an unexpected delight. I had read the reviews but, to be honest, was not expecting too much as in other trips to Fiji I had found the food disappointing. This was certainly not the case at Paradise Cove. Go hungry!!
We enjoyed ourselves so much we are already planning our return trip. Thank you everyone at Paradise Cove. We look forward to coming back soon.
