Perfect place to unwind

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Oct 2019
We visited Paradise Cove for the first time with our 2 year old daughter; expectations were high with all the glowing reviews. We were not disappointed and loved our 5 night stay, which felt long enough to really relax given the island is pretty quiet. Despite some rain we found enough to do - a beachfront room was great as we could still lounge around outside under the covered front porch and watch the sea.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and it was very generously sized - plenty of space to spread out and not feel cooped up. As per previous suggestions if you have young children sleeping in the back bedroom it's a good idea to bring a monitor as the space is out of earshot from the main room. The resort gardens were gorgeous and beautifully maintained.

Outdoor bathroom = bliss.

We really enjoyed the village trip to nearby Soso, also the guided snorkel trip and scuba trips. Terrific snorkelling out the front of the resort (particularly towards the helicopter pad end). The beach is quite rocky at one end and has lots of scoria washed up so reef shoes are a good idea. There's still plenty of sandy areas to sit and play though.

Food was really good - kids meals were simple but nourishing and the adults dinner menu is particularly good. The meal plan felt like great value. Loved the local gin and tonics.

Hospitality was outstanding - so warm and friendly. The staff were lovely and treated our daughter especially like royalty. Any requests were very happily met - dinner delivered to our room, a late checkout to allow our daughter to get her midday sleep - no issues whatsoever. We only used the kids club a couple of times. It was very quiet with only a couple of others attending which worked out well for us. Seemed better suited to younger kids.

We boated in and out but next time would aim to helicopter out as the trip home felt very drawn out.

Hope to return again!

Room Tip: Villa 35 was at the very end, super quiet as away from the restaurant.

If you are looking for that local Fijian experience. Wayalailai is the place! Beautiful island, beautiful people and amazing local Fijian food. 🫶 Out of all the islands I visited it also had the BEST hike where you can see sunrise & sunset. Great for solo travellers and also perfect for family’s. There is limited phone reception giving you that perfect escape to enjoy the island vibes. You can dive, snorkel, learn weaving, local village tour & more. Highly recommend!!

This is my second visit to Paradise Cove. And I can say that this is the real Paradise. I love this place. The staff is so friendly and really makes you feel like you are part of the family.
The beach is nice, but might be a little small, if you don't have a beachfront villa. But the water is crystal clear and full of fish. So snorkling right from the beach is really good.
The bar and restaurant is just so nice. The food is 5 star and the service always with a friendly smile.
The villa in the Cove is really amazing. I loved the outdoor shower/bathroom. The bed was little too hard for my back, but it was ok for 5 nights.

If I have to meantion something that wasn't perfect it would be the wifi. I talked to the manager, Debbie, about this. She was also very helpful and let me borrow wifi from the office, so I could re-book my cancelled flight. Thanx !

I really want to come back here again. I loved every minute of my stay.
Thanx to Knox, Posh, Emily, Api, Taru and Debbie + all the other staff
You all made our stay in Paradise feel like coming home !! Vinaka !

      Bula Vinaka

Thank you for choosing to return to Paradise for the second time. We are grateful for your kind words and they really mean a lot to the team. We are well aware of our wifi woes and are working on ways to improve the service. We look forward to welcoming you back to the family again soon.

The hotel is well located in Yasawa Island next to Manta Ray Island. There are many dive sites around there as there are snorkelling also. The house reef is good for snorkelling. The facilities are good for a place so remote. The pool is small, they have one restaurant and a dive shop. The staff at both are very courteous as prompt and are very helpful and that makes your trip a pleasant experience.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comments. I am sure that you spent so much time in the water enjoying our house reefs that you didn’t get much time to explore the resort in full as we actually have two restaurant areas with two bars as well as one large pool area and two medium sized pools in our adults only area. We also have rooms with private splash pools.

We look forward to hosting you both again in the future and ensure that you get to experience everything that we have to offer.

      Best regards

We left Auckland on the 9:30 flight to Nadi, off the plane, straight onto the helicopter ,whisked to Paradise Cove and we were sitting down to the first incredible meal before 2pm. No staying overnight in Nadi and catching the boat for a 3hour trip next day. Definitely the only way to go-worth the extra to avoid the hassles that we normally have to suffer. We stayed in the COVE, which suited us fine. Bungalows set out in beautiful gardens with many secluded seating areas. Great for a pre-dinner drink after a day on the beach. We were there for our own celebration of our Golden Wedding and the management and staff did us proud, making it a very memorable evening. We stayed seven nights and loved every minute. Our first visit to Fiji, no wish to visit any other resorts as Paradise Cove met all our needs. Read the other reviews to find out about the snorkelling etc. (Nobody I talked to was disappointed). For us ,the highlights were the FOOD - the best we have had on holiday, ever . Also the visit to the village of So-So for the church service on Sunday.

Me and my boyfriend visited Paradise Cive on our way out to NZ and it did not disappoint. Even the 3 hour boat journey from the mainland to the island was exciting and getting to see all the resorts we passed on the way was fun. Everything is amazing about this resort so there isn’t much for me to say!

It’s not overcrowded as it isn’t huge, which is great. There are two adult only pools of you don’t want to be around kids/families. The food is UNREAL. So so good and we were stuffed every evening! The staff were incredible and so friendly. Especially the guys that take you out on some of the snorkelling trips. We swam with Manta Rays which was amazing, the snorkelling right on the beach front was also beautiful.

The room it’s self was really spacious and pretty. The bed was ginormous and super comfy. We especially loved the outside shower! We didn’t stay anywhere else in the Yasawa’s and we were more than fine with that! We can’t wait to come back to Paradise Cove but next time will be for longer!

We have just returned from our second visit to Paradise Cove in the beautiful Yasawa Island group in Fiji.

Last year we were very impressed with the quality of the resort, the fantastic staff and the incredible food on offer. I am very pleased to report that nothing has changed.... it is still an unbelievable resort to kick back and enjoy the beautiful environment.

As was the case last year, we stayed at the 'Beach House' on the island opposite to the main resort. A short boat ride across the passage (on call from 7am - 10pm) delivers you to the main resort where you can enjoy all the facilities on offer, such as the restaurant, bar, 'adult area', gym, kid's club or the 3 swimming pools etc.
The only slight negative this time was that the usual boat with the front extending boarding ladder was out of service for a few days which made exiting and boarding the transfer boat a little challenging at night time in windy conditions.
Alternatively, you can have staff come across to the 'Beach House' and prepare your breakfast and other meals on your own piece of secluded paradise. Once again the staff were fantastic. The dive shop boys, kitchen/bar staff and the house keeping staff were very friendly and attentive. You couldn't ask for better service.

The fact that the resort achieves such high standards across all areas, in such a remote location, is testimony to their great planning and teamwork. It just works!

New General Managers, Phil and Debra, have just taken the reigns. They have inherited a great resort and we hope they can continue the excellent legacy left by their predecessors.

One thing is for certain, we'll be back next year!!

      Thank you Paradise Cove.
