Still the best!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Sept 2019
We have just returned from our second visit to Paradise Cove in the beautiful Yasawa Island group in Fiji.

Last year we were very impressed with the quality of the resort, the fantastic staff and the incredible food on offer. I am very pleased to report that nothing has changed.... it is still an unbelievable resort to kick back and enjoy the beautiful environment.

As was the case last year, we stayed at the 'Beach House' on the island opposite to the main resort. A short boat ride across the passage (on call from 7am - 10pm) delivers you to the main resort where you can enjoy all the facilities on offer, such as the restaurant, bar, 'adult area', gym, kid's club or the 3 swimming pools etc.
The only slight negative this time was that the usual boat with the front extending boarding ladder was out of service for a few days which made exiting and boarding the transfer boat a little challenging at night time in windy conditions.
Alternatively, you can have staff come across to the 'Beach House' and prepare your breakfast and other meals on your own piece of secluded paradise. Once again the staff were fantastic. The dive shop boys, kitchen/bar staff and the house keeping staff were very friendly and attentive. You couldn't ask for better service.

The fact that the resort achieves such high standards across all areas, in such a remote location, is testimony to their great planning and teamwork. It just works!

New General Managers, Phil and Debra, have just taken the reigns. They have inherited a great resort and we hope they can continue the excellent legacy left by their predecessors.

One thing is for certain, we'll be back next year!!

Thank you Paradise Cove.

If you are looking for that local Fijian experience. Wayalailai is the place! Beautiful island, beautiful people and amazing local Fijian food. 🫶 Out of all the islands I visited it also had the BEST hike where you can see sunrise & sunset. Great for solo travellers and also perfect for family’s. There is limited phone reception giving you that perfect escape to enjoy the island vibes. You can dive, snorkel, learn weaving, local village tour & more. Highly recommend!!

This resort was beyond magical. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights for our honeymoon before moving on to another island - big regret as we ended up falling in love with Paradise Cove!

The staff were incredible, taking the time to learn our names and always a friendly welcome at the bar and restaurant. The beach is immaculate with the most comfy loungers and beautiful snorkelling 5 meters off the shoreline. Food was OUTSTANDING, compulsory meal plan yes, but everything is delectable and served in fine dining style. The gardens were spectacular and the fact that they have 3 pools (2 in an adult only section - score!) was the perfect retreat when you wanted to cool off. Cocktails were yummy.

We are literally already planning our next vacation to Paradise Cove, and trust me we will not be island hopping this time because this place is just amazing.

What a beautifull resort with friendly staff all around.
everybody is taking care about you.
We stayed at the Suite with our own Plunge Pool. The beach in front of the suite is a perfect location for snorkling.
I can recommend this location if you want to have a very relaxing Holiday.

The resort isn‘t nearly as good as it is presented in the internet. It was so bad that we had to leave earlier. The service was poor and the rooms were dirty. When we arrived we didn’t like our room at all so we made an upgrade. But even that room wasn’t good at all. This hotel is the biggest scam I’ve ever seen.

We stayed five nights in a garden bungalow which was clean and comfortable.Meals were of a good standard .
Highlights are the adult only area and the snorkelling directly off the beach.

The manta ray snorkel was excellent, there were six mantas the day we went.

We would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

...except the wi-fi. I really can't say enough good things about this resort - most of the details have been covered by other reviewers below.

We stayed here 7 night on a family vacation (with 2 kids). It was just perfect. The beach in front is great for everything from snorkeling to lounging around and reading quietly. The kids loved the inflatable in front of the beach that they could swim to and climb on. (For the record this is not some overrun-with-kids resort - it's just that kids are welcomed and there are sufficient activities for them).

Plenty of activities all around, from boat snorkeling trips to the manta ray swim to coconut demonstrations, hiking, etc.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are on a compulsory food program, and the food was really excellent overall - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Just very good overall.

The dive shop is great and I went through my certification there - excellent instructors.

I have to agree that even though this and Blue Lagoon are partners, Paradise Cove seems to be managed better. For example, little things like the round Fiji-style welcome rugs being new and bright here, while at Blue Lagoon they look like they have seen better days. There are more lounge chairs here for people to use, etc.

We stayed in a "Paradise Garden Bungalow" and it was very nice. Yes, a short walk to the beach, but new, with air conditioning, and an outdoor shower, and a porch/veranda, and plenty roomy and very clean.

The only downside is the non-existent wi-fi. They shouldn't even advertise as having it since it's only good for occasional email coming in at random times.

Overall, we all really loved it. Very calm, just gorgeous, quite a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Yasawas. Special shout-out to all the great staff - thank you!
